Bon Jovi were my favs!! Motley Crue rocked royally too. Weren't Aerosmith glam rock?
|
Bon Jovi rule. 'You Give Love A Bad Name' has got to be one of the best glam songs ever.
|
This is true. I bought The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars yesterday :thumb:
Doesn't it rule?!!?! |
Trash era? Why would discuss an era when someone is garbage?
Go away. :smash: Didn't you read what the threadstarter said? NO flaming. I'm surprised that it's coming from someone who's a mod too. I'll admit that there was alot of crap around in this era, but the highlights for me were, Motley Crue (most notably the albums Shout At The Devil, Dr. Feelgood and their self titled album), Van Halen (most of their material is excellent. Yes including Hagar era), Skid Row, Warrant, Hanoi Rocks and Posion (to some extent). |
Liberace rocked my ***, there is nothing more rocking than a man in a chinchilla coat playing Chopsticks.
|
I just downloaded the first 4 Skid Row albums. God they rocked.
*mumbles something about Kurt Cobain* I'm seeing Faster Pussycat this time next week, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee |

no way! and anyone who consideres them so is retarded. They are a tough band to class though they range all the way from hard rock to pop. |
You've missed out most of the orignal glam rock bands, you;v emainly only included the 80's glam rock movement..People like Queen, T-Rex, David Bowie (During the Ziggy Stardust period) were all very influentail glam rock bands during the 70's..I love Alice Cooper perosnally, one of my favorite artists of all time. Queen of course are amazing!! Mott The Hoople were also great at one point, a very underrated band...Mud, Iggy Pop, Suade are also decent bands but not my favorites!
|
I misspelt the title, it was supposed to be The Glam/Hair Metal Thread
If you want to talk about Bowie or T Rex get your own thread. But the Dolls own, they can stay. |
Bon Jovi and Van Halen IMO are the kings of the glam/hair metal era.
|
Can't we let T.Rex in a little bit? :( Sad face.
I don't think you can not like Motley Crue or Twisted Sister really. DISCLAIMER: The above was a massive generalisation to put forward my point of veiw on the bands. I do not need two word posts saying "I don't." Thank you. *bows and leaves* |
hair metal is awesome, and motley crue is touring this summer. :thumb: also, is ozzy considered hair metal? i dont care, but thats what some black/death metalheads have told me. (personally i hate black metal, death metal, gore metal, etc. its all about power metal and glam/hair metal (though many would disagree). i dont care. george lynch forever!
|
i shall definitly be back to this thread. i bid you all a good night :chug:
|
How can someone not like "We're Not Gonna Take It?":lol::lol:
Also, Alice Cooper is one of my favorites (check out "Feed My Frankenstein" ). I hardly see him mentioned here, though. I made a thread about him a while back, but it barely got noticed. |
Alice Cooper is great. My favorite song by him is Welcome To My Nightmare.
|
my favourite Alice Cooper song is Hello, Hooray. Kind of different from his usual sound, but i love it.

|
Vocals - Michael Monroe
Lead - Eddie Van Halen Rhythm - Izzy Stradlin Bass - Duff Drums - Tommy Lee GNR is in it and they're not really glam, but oh well. |
Vocals: Jon Bon Jovie

Anyways I like Skid Row the most out of these bands here although I don't consider them glam metal and Twisted Sister I think isn't really glam metal eather but they kick some ***. Steelheart is a pretty good glam band. Here's my dream lineup. Vocals: Sebastian Bach/Dee Snider Lead: Eddie Van Halen/Slash Rythm: Snake Sabo Bass: Duff Mckagan/Rachel Bolan Drums: Steven Adler/Matt Sorum |
New York Dolls are the best glam rock band ever. How could you not put them in that first list?

I wouldn't agree completely, but I'd say that's pretty accurate. Johnny Thunders > us all. And I did suggest them later on. |
