No problem. I should be able to upload a few more tracks for you when I'm back at University, if you want.

Kurtz 04-10-2005 10:31 PM

Any early stuff would be great.

Thanks again.

Is this THE Devin Townsend that was mentioned in the article? Because if so, I'm definetely intrigued.

Riva 04-10-2005 11:02 PM

I really like Riff After Riff, not only because it was the first album I got from Bartender/Munky_Magik.

Great band, I love how they blend so many influences into a fun, energetic vibe based around punk/rock.
Is this THE Devin Townsend that was mentioned in the article? Because if so, I'm definetely intrigued.
Yeah, it is :) He joined them as a temporary guitarist around 1995, and I think he did vocals on a b-side around their weird, Endless Nameless period, in 1997.

When they reformed in 2001/2002, he toured as their support, and basically had fun thrashing the Wildhearts fan-dominated crowd to within an inch of their collective life every night.

misunderstood 04-11-2005 01:52 AM

so what's going on with Ginger? He was working with Brides of Destruction and then suddenly left...anyone know why?

munky_magik 04-11-2005 03:34 AM

I have no idea why he left either.
Apparently, according to someone on here, he's writing more solo stuff. He'll be doing something though, you can count on that.
I hope he just gets back to The Wildhearts soon, and decides to tour again :)

Bartender 04-11-2005 08:15 AM

I think the reason given was just that it wasn't working out with the Brides, with no more elaboration. I'm glad he left, though.

munky_magik 04-11-2005 08:18 AM

I'm interested as to how it would've turned out.

Six Foot Revolver 04-11-2005 02:54 PM

I haven't actually heard brides :upset:

misunderstood 04-11-2005 04:25 PM

^^you should give them a try. I personally don't think they're all that bad. Not the best out there yet somewhat different from everything else that is going around nowadays. I have their album and I think it's pretty decent.

Six Foot Revolver 04-11-2005 05:05 PM

which album do you recommend I get first?

misunderstood 04-11-2005 05:23 PM

They only have one album out..."Here Come The Brides"

Butch Walker 04-11-2005 07:30 PM

Ginger wrote, I think, 6 songs with the Brides, which should make the album, so that'll be something to listen for, but I don't like the Brides too much. I hate London and Tracii, and now that Nikki and Ginger have left, there's nothing that interests me.

The Wildhearts are wonderful, though, someone should do a full FA on them some time. If I had time I would, I may in future if I need to avoid studying for my exams, or perhaps Bartender might.

Whenever I'm asked for a favourite track, Everlone is the first to come to mind. It's then very quickly followed by Sky Babies, Loveshit, Show a Little Emotion, Suckerpunch, Sky Chaser High, Geordie in Wonderland, Splattermania, OCD, Vanilla Radio, Greetings From Shitsville, Nothing Ever Changes But the Shoes, Do the Channel Bop..basically I don't know :) And yeah, I do have the newest live album (several people here do, I think), and yes, it is rather good.

Did anyone see them live when Vanilla Radio was still a fresh, new track? I saw them at a festival in 2002, and they had a midget dressed as Elvis running around all day*. It was awesome.

*followed by a camera; I think they were filming for the Vanilla Radio video.

Delivery is free.

Six Foot Revolver 04-12-2005 12:36 PM
