A genre that i've really neglected so far. Good job with the description and the downloads.

I thought I´d expand the download section a bit ;)

brutal death: http://www.timetombs.net/abhorrence/ techdeath: http://demilich.doesntexist.com/
For a second there I thought that link was to the Abhorrence from Brazil, who totally hammer the shit out of every other poseur band on the face of the planet. I've heard of this Abhorrence, but I never checked them out. |
Good job manu :)

^folkish pseudo old-school/brutal death metal
BTW,got another one for ya: http://www.accelerator.ch/contents/news/whatsnew.html progressive death/thrash |
Excellently done. I commend thee.
|
i like the download part. thats a good addition, i hope all of the featured genre's have it.
|
Good job, although I would of highly recommended Cryptopsy - None so Vile :P
For those people still having doubts about this/these genre(s) of death metal, as I saw in a few posts above, I'd really recommend Atheist....the vocals aren't too harsh, and you really can see the heavy jazz influences in their songs, especially Unholy War and I Deny. |
Good Job.
|
good job, lots of info there
rep+(even though mines not worth much) |
Excellent, I've been wanting to hear Athiest for ages. Good thread. :thumb:

Apparently Piece of Time is rare as all fuck for some reason or other. Not a big Atheist fan anyways so I don't really know. |
You can get mp3 format of unquestionable prescence from me on AIM in about...3 hours maybe.

Dunno,but it should be all over the net.I found this "somewhere": http://rapidshare.de/files/698255/Atheist_-_01_-_Mother_Man.mp3.html http://rapidshare.de/files/698287/Atheist_-_02_-_Unquestionable_Presence.mp3.html http://rapidshare.de/files/698330/Atheist_-_03_-_Your_Life_s_Retribution.mp3.html http://rapidshare.de/files/698352/Atheist_-_04_-_Enthralled_In_Essence.mp3.html http://rapidshare.de/files/698377/Atheist_-_05_-_An_Incarnation_s_Dream.mp3.html http://rapidshare.de/files/698402/Atheist_-_06_-_The_Formative_Years.mp3.html http://rapidshare.de/files/698425/Atheist_-_07_-_Brains.mp3.html http://rapidshare.de/files/698447/Atheist_-_08_-_And_The_Psychic_Saw.mp3.html Slow,as your DL-capacity is limited,but well worth the time. |
Well done, I haven't heard much Tech Death Metal, but thanks to this, I'll download some tracks :thumb:
|
Lykathea Aflame are floating my boat.
Good work. |
Everyone should really check Anata.... they're the new school of technical death metal.
Under A Stone With No Inscription is an awesome album and will probably became a technical death metal classical in years to come. That's not saying they have no room to improve, hopefully they will continue to write awesome albums. You should also check out: The Black Dahlia Murder (non as technical as Anata) Ephel Duath (jazz influenced) Extol (not as technical as other bands mentioned be like switching time sigs, very accessible) Quo Vadis (as some have already mentioned) |
Very good job. You covered everything.

No contest. Rep+ |

Good job.
Ya sorry about that Manuscriptreplica, I'm just not used to someone actually including everything on their first post. Usually it takes a few edits. And my friend is really into some form of metal and some songs have a lot of keyboards and synthesizers or something like that. Does Technical Death Metal have stuff like that, or is it mainly guitars/bass for rhythms and melodies?
Cynic use some keyboards on Focus, as do Theory in Practice on Colonising the Sun. |
Arg, those keyboards. Like on Shapeshifter - totally awesome riffage, but around 2:00 these unimaginably gay keyboards come in and start wanking all over.
Oh well, Colonizing the Sun still owns. That's sort of my only complaint. |
Good job on this. Now I am more educated than I was on death metal in the first place.

To me they sound like the ultra-ultra-cheesy keyboards they use on kid's shows whenever there is a haunted house. They sound like a joke. I certainly agree with the last sentence. |
Spastic Ink and Watchtower are also good but they are just technical metal not death metal i guess.

Nice FG manuscript :thumb:
