yikes! thats some high *** action. You could use a setup, dude.
That action is hysterical |
I played a horrible cheap tanglewood bass, thats after playing a jazz bass though, so it was quite a big step down

I have a Rogue SX100B. It's not that bad, but it does have a few "bugs."
This is the package it came with: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=bass/search/bigpid/base_id/85718/ |
I have a squier P-bass (Fender) with select emg pickups and a 15 inch crate cabinet. Also a Behringer Guitar amp of some sort (use as a head) i have all my stuff at my bands place so i can't tell you exactly what it is. It "had" two blown speakers, that the previous owner decided to tear out (not sure if they were really blown) I grabed it out him for 60 bucks. Works for what i use it for but i need more. I also have a Vintage Ibanez Jazz bass which i sold becuase i didn't like it much.
|
my "friend" broke my peavey jazz bass (cheap-o) in half (dont ask how) but i didn't mind cuz his mom made him buy me a Cort Action bass ( i love it) hes now my "friend" again, as long as he doesnt touch my bass
|
glad to see i'm not the only bassist with a cheap bass. that's ok though, cuz i bet half of us can own the musicman/warwick owners with our low-end basses  :)
i have an alvarez bass that is an amber color and im wondering if alvarez is a good bass.
You can say that for yourself dude! ;) If you like it, if you like the sound of it, if you like the feeling of it.. who cares about other oppinions then :thumb: |
I would just like to say... just because a bass is expensive doesnt mean its great and just because its cheap or mid range doesnt mean it sucks...
alot of time what you are paying for is the name. You can get a carvin for 800 to 1000, and it may play better to you, then a 2000 fender, GL, Lakland, Musicman, Warwick or anything else... 200 for a bass is a good deal, if it plays and doesnt constantly give you problems then good for you, i have a gsr 200.... but i also have a Fender Jazz |
^ Agree
My bass plays fairly well seeing as it was REALLY cheap. I payed around 350$ for my bass and a 100W Randall Combo Used though but in nearly perfect condition (besides some minor scratches) |
exit: The kid i teach bass to has that bass, i thought it was pretty good! bit heavy though.
|
I have a bass by Vintage, and I love it. It only cost £200 (maybe US$300) but it sounds sweet as hel through, of al things, a Behringer BX1200. The problem now is that I don't want to spend money on an undoubtedly better bass, cos I don't think it'd be better enough....
Fallen Angel |
Ehh I dont have any pics at school, I found this one of me on a forum from way back....when I get home Ill post more
img128.exs.cx/img128/8532/cap_106.jpg Peavey Fury made in the usa =D Edit: Sorry ya gotta copy and paste that into your browser, im at school and cant get a direct link at the moment. |
My *** is broke, I got bills and dont paid enough at my current job to afford musicmans, sadowskys, etc.
I play old school Peavey basses, the ones that were made in USA. They started making basses in 1978, its the older the better as far as quality goes. The one I use as my main bass now is an '84 Fury. Tone is almost identical to a fender P-bass, pickup is pretty hot for a passive. Super reliable basses, though. Dirt cheap on Ebay, this one cost me $150...for made in usa at that. http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=13625&stc=1
Now I like that! Peavey is the **** man. I play an early 80's Foundation. It's my little blue baby. That thing has takin some abuse and kept going. |
i got a legend j-copy
sure its crap now, but w8 untill i replace the neck with a status graphite one... |
