why on earth would you move from hong kong back to england. i dont know why you ask because you probably dont have a choice. : /
anyway, im 17 live in england, been playing around 2 years. recently up-graded from a session pro with one tom with no reso and a beat batter to a pdp which i love, i got myself a paiste, meinl hats, stupid lil zildjian zxt trashformer (which i rather like really) a pro sonix crash and another stupid cymbal: meinl splash. oh yeh.... tom smith:D
Well, the main reason is UNI. I am going to be studying Audio technology in london. HK is a great place, but not music wise. there are NO independant bands that make money here, the only music industry here is canto pop, and i have never seen ANY of my favourite bands live. From what i have heard (from people that have moved from HK to lodon), london is a great place. If i wasn't into music, then i would probably want to stay here.
^^ dude, i moved from hong kong back to canada. i've been playing for 5 months and im 13. i dont have a kit yet. i am on this site 90% of the time (yes, i have no life).
start coming to shows! you can find out whats happening (sorta) at www.talkmusic.org |
My name is Jacob Michael, I am a 6'5'' male with green eyes. I work in the web development devision of a computer company. I enjoy conversations, candlelight dinners, and long walks on the beach. I am looking for someone to share my love of kitty cats and puppy dogs with. If you are interested, just meet me in the alley behind McDonald's in an hour.
EDIT: What's that you say? This isn't hotdate.com? Aw ****! All right then, my hobbies..blah..playing drums and kicking ***, blah blah blah...Pearl, Sabian, Zildjian, Paiste, Remo, Toca, blah blah blah...guitar and bass also, blah blah blah...etc. |
My name is Ali (short for Alastair) Clark. I'm from UK. I'm 12. I like drumming, trampolining, athletics and most things to do with music. I just started Tae-kwondo and going to the gym every week to get in shape for athletics season coming up (came 2nd in county last year for 80m). At the moment i like punk and ska (Taking Back Sunday, Reel Big Fish, Less than Jake, Goldfinger etc.). Favourite drummers are Thomas Lang, Mike Portnoy and Virgil Donati. These forums have helped me loads especially with my knowledge of equipment.

Mt name is Ally short for Allister, Im 15, started drumming around 2 1/4 years ago, I like going out with my friends, concerts and films as well as drumming. My all time favourite band is Rammstein and they have been for a few years now. Into lots of music, indie, rock, metal, electro some trance. Bands that come to mind are Rammsten, tears for fears, depeche mode, Rob Zombie, Tool, REM, Joy Division, The Cure and David Bowie :)
My favourite drummers are Danny Carey, Mike Portnoy, Dave Weckle and Christoph doom schneider(sure in some rammstein song he just play a straight 4/4 beat but he's better than that and he's a sexy beast : P) so its pancake day guys |
Hey everyone! My name is Jennifer, Im from Minnesota and it seems like Im the oldest here @ 27. I've been drumming for about 7 years. I played keyboards since childhood, but switched over to drums because 1) keys got boring and 2)there aren't many keys in hard rock/metal, which is the music I prefer. Been in a few cover bands...enjoyed them all. Im not currently in a band due to my work schedule, but plan to join one or start one this spring.
Playing gigs is probably my favorite past time. Sex, drugs & rockNroll!! (well... I say no to drugs). My influeneces are Ulrich, Peart and Larkin...Danny Carey too :thumb: |
My name is Brian, from upstate New York. I've been playing for about 12 years now, after switching from piano and cello. I did mostly orchestral percussion for a long time, specifically the timpani, and was going to go for symphonic jobs until I started playing the kit. My background is very largely jazz and latin, though I haven't played Latin music in so long I almost can't even remember what a clave is.
Played in several big bands and, at one time, a salsa band (in which I was the only non-Latino member). I took lessons from the legend, Joe Morello, who completely reinvented my technique and saved me from a lifetime of carpal tunnel syndrome. After music school, I took a huge turn from classical and jazz and started playing hardcore music. After playing for a couple of local bands, I hooked up with my present band, Drowningman. Just laid down drum tracks for the demo last night, and we're shopping for a label, planning a full-length, and gearing up for tours later in the spring. Last September we toured with Dillinger Escape Plan, and chances are, we'll be doing the same this year. Major influences include Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl, Akira Jimbo, Terry Bozzio, Greg Bissonette, Tony Williams, Art Blakey, Elvin Jones and Chris Pennie. Oh, and Travis Barker is the best drummer of all time!!!! :p |

Hey... my name's Nick Hall and i come from Surrey in Southern England. I'm 15, will have been playing drums for 3 years this coming summer.
Apart from drums i'm really into music in general (mainly jazz/fusion/rock) like... Tool Slayer A Perfect Circle Miles Davis Dave Weckl Band Weather Report Slayer At The Gates Rage Against the Machine, computergames, girls, film, swimming etc. Erm... i'm kind of into oriental culture and i study Japanese at school (hoping to take Chinese Mandarin or Russian at uni). I also study Theology/Philosophy, Ancient Greek and ur usual stuff. I play with a covers band playing mainly Mudhoney/Melvins/Tool/Slayer etc. we gig quite regularly. With another band but we've been pretty inactive recently, original stuff mainly jazz orientated rock (our singer/guitarist is also an excellent saxophonist). What else... erm... This is an old picture of me.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v637/toolboy/me.jpg Me with my girlfriend being real losers lol... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v637/toolboy/couplephoto1.jpg Just my girlfriend... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v637/toolboy/tasha.jpg My drum kit (inverted colours)... Hey, my names Craig Scardaville, 17 and I live in MA. Been playing for about 5 years. If you want to know my drum info just check out my interview, I think I was like, idk, #4 or 5 or something. I'm in two bands. Dawn of Destruction(I think the name will change, we don't really like it much) as Drazinus and Immortal Khaos as Craeg Khaos(yes, that's a Tool reference). I like hanging out at the mall, movies, w/e. Playing video games like Halo 2 (on XBL my tag is Drazinus, if you wanna play a game of team slayer or something), DDR, Half-Life 2, UT2K4, BF1942, yea, FPS is my favorite genre. I think that's pretty much it...

Hey all, I'm new so I guess this is a good place for me to introduce myself. My names Mike, 15, and I'm from Long Island, New York. Been playing for about two years, still kinda looking around for a band to play in. I like listening to alot of stuff, punk and ska mainly, but I'm also into hardcore, alternative rock, indie, and some emo. Long Island has a great scence, so I enjoy going to local shows alot. Like Draz I play a good deal of PC FPS and some RTS. Im in love with Adult Swim on Cartoon Network and watch that very often. I also like studying history in school and what not, especially learning more and more about World War II, I may possibly become a history teacher. Well, thats about all right now.

Hi my name is Kelsey and I'm from a crappy small town in Manitoba. I'm 14 (turning 15 in exactly 3 months) and I've been playing drums for almost 3 years. I mostly play rock and metal but lately I've been getting into jazz and I really like it. Some of my favorite bands are Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Metallica and Pantera. Other than that, I don't really have much to say... I'm kinda boring.
And what's this pancake day people are talking about, and why has no one told me about this sooner!? |
My name is Rob Noseworthy, currently in grade nine and my dreams would be to take drumming into a career someday. My heros are Mike Portnoy and Chad Smith (My style is more on the lines of Chad Smith). All I bassically do right now with my time is drum. I have been drumming for 9 months and am very happy where I stand right now. I am looking to start up a new band through the spring.

It was actually a lot of fun. It was my first real tour, so I spent most of it just in awe and practicing on my drum pad backstage (I get stage fright something fierce, so anything to take my mind off of it). We were on tour with Misery Signals, Zao, Every Time I Die, and Dillinger, so there were a lot of cool guys to hang out with. |
