Fred Durst gargles cum. God, he should learn how to play, or not try to show off.
you got that right |
punk solo's shouldnt count, they are all like nirvana's, and they are most all played on one string
listen to (old) bad religion or social distortion. some aight solos there on much more than one string but i don't like some arch enemy solos just because they're put in there for no reason and don't have much feeling (if any) |
Ehh... that one Fred Durst did.
|
Fred Durst's poor attempt at shredding
I don't have a link but I'm sure someone will
i agree :smash: |
GISM?? who?
That's the NAME of the band. A japanese punk band that has good guitar playing. Listen |
at least his tone was good, lol, that has nothing to do with his guitar playing ability though
Your tone comes mostly from your fingers, not your equipment. |
That's the NAME of the band. A japanese punk band that has good guitar playing.

Wait lets see.
You say all punk has pathetic guitar solos. but I give you a good punk band that has good guitar and you make excuses. If you don't really listen to a genre, don't make stupid statements. |
At first thought- "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. Heh.
I was watching a free concert at my college and someone played a cover of incubus - drive. the guitarist gave up on his "solo" after his first four notes were all off key.
The only time I have seen anything worse is when a guy was asked to do some improvisation over someone elses song in a gcse concert (15-16 year olds) his guitar was completely out of tune, but he carried on playing all the way through the song.. it was horiffic. |
That Fred Durst clip reminds me of Master Shake in the episode he gets a guitar.
|
i disagree, its how your amp, effects, guitar sound together
Go take that arguement to the guitar forum, and you will be torn apart. I will try and find the article that explains how the majority of your tone comes from your fingers and your technique. |

Jet- Are u going to be my girl. Only like 3 notes. heh.
Some punk bands do have pretty good solos.......on the bass. But other than that, they just tremelo pick the root notes of the chords they play. |
im talking about his overall tone, not only his guitar tone, amp tone as well, of course hes going to have good tone because he's using thousands of dollars in equipment.
For example, if you take every single exact piece of equipment say Joe Satriani has or John Petrucci, you will not have their same tone at all. Like I said, if you think you have an arguement, gladly take it to the guitar forum... |

i agree that a lot of the tone comes out of how you play the interest, but most of it is by what equipment you are using and how you set it up but nevermind because this argument is going nowhere, i do get what you are saying though |
confortbly numb by pink floyd
joking...he. he...ehe.... :( |
maybe its like their picking techniques and stuff
Exactly. Its also how your fingers touch the fret board and such as well... Also I would find that article, but it is not in my favorites any more, and the search function is not working properly to find the thread it was in with the discussion of it as well... |
Definatly "I wanna be Sedated" by the Ramones. One note guitar solo, what were they thinking.
|
I posted that on the guitar forum for the thread started who had a interest in Michael Angelo. Wanna tell me how I got made fun of for posting it?
7 nation army by the white stripes....god that guitar tone is the most disgusting thing i've ever heard
|
regardless of their picking style you would get a different sound if you were using a mesa, as opposed to a marshall
Exactly, that is a distinct sound. They have their certain style of sound, tone is the character of the sound. |
