Oh and did you guys know that in the end of '04 or the beginning of '05 (hopefully) they will be coming out with a new cd called "Strap it On"
Yes they are planning to release an upcoming album and support tour, however it is not called "Strap it On". That's heresay and rumour.

Howard's Beast 10-22-2004 06:10 AM
I don't dislike them because their simple, I mean, some songs I've heard by them are actually kinda technical. It's the repetitive quality that gets to me. If I have to say it one more time I'm going to have to take a sedative.
IT'S NOT REPETITIVE. It's just their style. I could easily say any other band/genre.

EDIT: By the way, You Shook Me ****s me up the wall, it's all that is played by non-AC/DC fans. Yes it's a good song, but there are better ones such as Riff Raff, Let There Be Rock, Heatseeker (live), What's Next to the Moon, This Means War, Night Prowler, Safe in New York City.

I'm pretty sure that isn't a rumor.
have you ever checked out AC/DC: Live at Donnington '91? angus rips a loooong solo for let there be rock and it kicks ***.
Yes, I have live at donnington on dvd.

Bulldogabel 10-22-2004 04:58 PM
Ok Thanks, It would be nice to get somemore opinions.
It would also be nice if you didn't suck so much cock!

I love AC/DC, just not you.

That wasnt Bon Scott. Because this song was written AFTER Bon Scott died.

Kickflip_Burrito 10-27-2004 04:07 AM

Has anybody seen/got AC/DC Stiff Upper Lip Live DVD? That is absolutely amazing and Let There Be Rock on that, that is crazy!

Kickflip_Burrito 10-27-2004 04:08 AM

Oh, by the way, Brian Johnson is better than Bon Scott...but, Bon has better songs to his name.

BassMasterMike88 10-27-2004 09:33 AM

Personally i like all the stuff before Bon Scott died, with the exception of Back in Black, thats just classic.

downpaymentblues 11-11-2004 12:48 PM

AC/DC is no doubt one of the most influencial and greatest bands in the world. The best albums are: High Voltage, Razor's Edge, Let There Be Rock, Flick of The Switch and For Those About to Rock We Salute You!!!. And they are not repetative, they are consistent.

shadow_stalker 11-11-2004 01:05 PM

best album - their live album (think its from donnington)

best songs - TNT, Dirty deeds (done dirt cheap), whole lotta rosie and moneytalks

BludgeonySteve 11-11-2004 11:14 PM

High Voltage, Powerage, Dirty Deeds, Highway to Hell and I guess back in black.

Who cares if their songs aren't complex? Their songs are better than 99% of people who have more skill than them.

Josh_Man21 11-11-2004 11:38 PM

Even if the rumour about a new album is just in fact a rumour, does anyone know of any tours or shows cause I'd be the first to pick up a ticket if so.

BludgeonySteve 11-11-2004 11:44 PM

There will probably be another tour soon. I hope.

Jet Black Stare 11-12-2004 12:13 AM

Its not a RUMOR!!!!!!!!! Its been confirmed for a while now...and Johnson will be in charge of the lyrics for the first time in a while. And it is infact called strap it on.

TheWhoFan1 11-12-2004 01:42 PM
What do you think there top 3-5 CD's are? Also what do you think some of there top songs are?
I love almost all AC/DC cds, I have 12, and out of the ones I have, I'd say:
1. Highway To Hell
2. Powerage
3. Back In Black
4. High Voltage
5. Let There Be Rock

TheWhoFan1 11-12-2004 01:53 PM
There the reason I picked up a guitar as well.

Everyone is saying that the Bon years were better but I actually prefer the Johnson years. If you want a good album listen to the Razors Edge.
I'm not a big fan of The Razor's Edge. Its okay, but I prefer before Brian's voice got pretty bad, besides Stiff Upper Lip, thats a great album.

Cream Team 11-12-2004 02:36 PM

On the contrary, I deeply enjoy Bon Scott singing. Not knocking Brian Johnson, but I think Bon did a better job. And yes...I think Highway to Hell is their best album with Let There be Rock (live) running a close second

80smetalkicksass 11-12-2004 02:48 PM

Holy ****in **** i love ac/dc. And i cant beileve people would say how they are the same and not very good and stuff... you know what... ac/dc started well truley started in the late 70s with hitting it big and stuff...and hey what do ya know its 2004 and there are thousands of fans still loving them. thats about 30 years of rocking, plus they had their lead singer die, what did they do? QUIT?NO they got a new singer got back in the studio and made the 4th or is it 5th? Top selling album in the world. Angus like or not is actually rated one of the best guitarists in the world, i dont care who says hes not good...he is. Hes not only an exceptional guitarists but he is one of the few that is original, and has a sense of humor. There arent that many awsome bands that has a guitarists that does a strip routine during every show...who wears a school boy uniform. Also if you really look at it, all songs are going to sound alot alike because theres only so many frets on a guitar and so many chord progressions you can make and penatonic scales you can use for solos, you tell me a band that dosent use one the same chords in every song. Anyways im not trying to argue just defend my passion for them, because they truley are a foundation of hard and classic rock. My favorite albums would be- Highway to hell, High voltage, Fly on the wall, Back in black... and volts, omg volts is so awsome... its in the bonfire boxed set. if you havent heard it do so!
Top songs- Shoot to thrill, Shot down in flames, rock n roll aint noise pollution, who made who, cover you in oil, back seat confidential (First Beating around the bush)....there remake of 'school days' by chuck berry, highway to hell, Hell aint a bad place to be, jailbreak, Shook me all night long, little lover, Live wire is an awsome song AHHH theres so many.
for all the ac/dc fans out there keep rockin, and get ready for the tour! :)

Cream Team 11-12-2004 03:00 PM

Sorry, but AC/DC wasn't the only band to be rocking for 30 years. The Who formed in 1964, started the mod-era, started the rock opera, produced many great albums. Also, Keith Moon died because of drugs and alcohol. they didn't quit. John Entwhistle died because of "old age". they didn't quit. To say it simple, The Who has weathered many storms as well. Despite losing 2 out of 4, they were (and still are, inmy opinion) the best live band...they give you a show. Clothes...Pete townshend wears work boots and a jump suit, top that. Townshend found many different song styles and many different pentatonic scales for solos. hardly any of his solos sound similar. Yes you are right, AC/DC is awesome but they aren't the only band to live through many adventures.

Snowgeezer 11-12-2004 03:10 PM

Like someone else last page said, Flyhalf i think, ACDC was also my reason for picking up guitar.
I first heard them at a new years eve party last year. As soon as I heard them I wondered where'd id been the last 3 years of my life.
Let There Be Rock was the first album ive heard from them with Back In Black, and Highway To Hell being the next couple I bought (good choices as i didnt know much then).

For top albums Id have to say the above 3, I cant decide between them as Im always having to change CDs depending on what i feel like listening to.

For top songs Id have to say Let There Be Rock. Highway To Hell is the ultimate driving song, Back In Black is very catchy. A less well known song - Baby Please Dont Go is quite neat with the low E slides, (I have a video of Bon dressing up as a lady for a show doing this song - Brilliant). High Voltage and Donnington '91 is the best version of that song ive heard.

I have the most kick *** live version of Let There Be Rock ever, about 14 megs. Otherwise Ive got pretty much every ACDC song (126+) so i can send them to anyone who wants them.

hey man i wasnt saying ac/dc was the only band but this is the ac/dc thread, so of course i would be talking about ac/dc and not other bands and your right the who was really awsome, most classic rock bands were and most classic rock bands probably have lasted longer than any because they were amazing. But ac/dc is my favorite band regardless of what theyve been through, i was just kind of pointing that out to the people dissing on them, wasnt trying to say they were the best ever. rock on.
