Well, if you don't have an idea of what the Philippines looks like, I guess you could say the capital, Manila, where I used to live, is the most western-influenced place there, or in Asia for that matter. There's the 2nd largest mall in the world(I miss Philippine malls:upset: ).For the most part, it's pretty polluted, has a corrupted government and its in a pretty bad shape right now for a 3rd world country. Yeah, it's pitiful, that's why we moved here.

But I still miss my friends and everything cool there(especially my g/f, we're falling apart:(:(:( ). I'm definitely gonna go back there for college and hopefully settle there for good..

/shifts to patriotic mode
Wait, you moved to Canada to avoid a corrupt government and pollution? Sorry man, but you ay have messed up there.

If someone would host it, I'd post the song. :) Hint hint nudge nudge...

Greatest year of them all. I skipped a lot, I don't think I could have afforded to miss anymore days without losing credit :o
I just graduated, I'm not in college though. Next year...

KazooVirtuoso 09-01-2004 02:33 PM

Just started my third term of college. I'm in a community college right now, but I'm going to transfer to a real university after a few more terms and major in Music Technology. Aka, recording studio stuff mixed with a regular basic music degree.

The only problem is choosing between piano or jazz guitar. The piano audition will probably be easy, even though I haven't played much in years... But I want to go with jazz guitar (it's either that or classical for guitar), and that requires a prepared song to play and the ability to improvise and so on. I barely know any theory, let alone anything like jazz.

My Visual Arts professor this term has a mullet. How cool is that?

Master Arkam Kannon 09-01-2004 03:59 PM

i have nothing on the horizon really thats any change, for the first time in 16 years i will not be learning from a school, not be looking through a book to be told what to think and listen to lectures about what i'm being forced to learn, now its all about what i decide, good or bad, i'm on my own pretty much...

I know, but have you lived in Canada? The government is corrupt as hell, and the pollution is terrible (especially where I live).

No seriously, it's no comparison. The Phillipines is a third world country.

And I live near L.A. so I know all about pollution. ;)

Lowend 09-01-2004 04:43 PM

i'm a week into my freshman year of college. and it's fun stuff.

i have a cold :upset:

RIPJoeStrummer 09-01-2004 05:33 PM

I start at a new school tommorrow. Normally I'd be a little bit nervous and excited, but this year I really have nothing to look forward to. My school is full of idiots, there are only about 400 kids and I live in the "ghetto" part of town so it's pretty much 90% ghetto kids. On the bright side, there's a slight chance I just might meet someone new that I don't utterly hate. If I dont' then oh well, it'll just be the same as always and I'll be getting this high school crap over with.

Sort of.. my parents didn't wanna work there anymore. I understand why you first-worlders think it's terrible there. It is really, considering what's been going on there for the past few years(we had an actor for a president, 2 years in his term we kicked him out. Go figure) but I still miss it..:upset: I lived there all my life dammit! And I won't probably like winter here in Ontario. Oh well, 2 years to go..

Pollution's even worse there. But my lungs are used to it. 16 years of experience. Haha:p

I got perm banned. :(

*sweetjane* 09-01-2004 09:12 PM

f*ck talking about school. i'm in love with a gutter punk that lives on the other side of the river (i live in kansas city, mo, and the mo river runs through the center of our city) and can only see him by chance, on weekends. even then, there's that whole issue of being at the right place at the right time, because he doesn't have a phone, and rides his bike everywhere. f*ck. also, the filling in my tooth fell out today. i was eating a heath bar, and it just f*cking crumbled out.

Wanker 09-01-2004 09:29 PM

i leave for college in 2 days. twill be fun (even though i'll be a freshman :upset: )

br3ad_man 09-02-2004 01:17 AM

I'm still having a bit of girl trouble but my obsession with her is passing and I'll still like her after it does, but I'll actually be able to live when she's not around.

twistinside 09-02-2004 01:54 AM

i feel heaps un-motivated about school
which sucks cos soon assessments are going to count
:(

The Ashtray Girl 09-02-2004 05:39 AM

Meh... I feel kinda crap at the moment because tomorrow I'm meeting my girlfriend for the first time in five weeks and it's only to break up with her.

[/L&R thread]

guitarbaz 09-02-2004 05:49 AM

hmmm...i don't like my work and want to get another job up in newcastle or edinburgh to be back near my family and mates.
but then i'm in a great band and really love playing where i'm living at the minute.

ah....what do ya do eh?? decisions...

Happymeal 09-02-2004 07:14 AM

^(guitarbaz) Did you think of moving with your band(which seems kinda hard for you)? Otherwise, you have to make some sacrifices I guess..

nah, they won't move just for the band. on the bright side, if i do move it'll be to a much bigger city with hopefully more musical opportunities. we'd still do a few "re-union" gigs anyways i guess.
it's a sacrifice i'm resigned to having to make at some stage tho... :upset:

At least you have the right idea about actor presidents (Reagan..cough cough). And no, you won't like the winter. In Nova Scotia we got a meter of snow in March, and the climate is pretty similar.

Happymeal 09-02-2004 07:36 AM

Are you kidding? That actor president didn't even finished high school! He even got kicked out in the school I used to study in. *disgrace* The masses easily get swayed by actors.. which is a pity..

I'm used to the heat. In the Philippines the lowest temp's 18 degrees! I don't like cold places.. I guess I just have to get used to it.:upset:

That's my point. Actor presidents suck. I hate Reagan.

And yeah, you might find yourself spending the next couple months freezing till you get used to it. Temperature here sinks to like -30.

KappaKid17 09-02-2004 07:53 AM

Two classes today, soccer practice, then my girlfriend (who lives 2 hours away) will be here!
