im using this one since august 2004 - 80% of time time with the maximum volume possible...

_no_ problems at all, except for some crakling at very low frequenzies, but i guess thats quite acceptable at maximum volume & quite high gain...

bass&cookies 06-11-2005 09:59 PM

i have had one for about 5 months and no problems yet. it doesnt quite give me the bright tone ive been looking for, so im thinking about selling it. any sugestions for a good amp with simmilar wattage??

skaplease5588 06-12-2005 08:08 PM

Awww man, you guys are bumming me out. I got my BX1200 about a month ago, from musician's friend. Do they offer any kind of warantee? Maybe I'll get lucky and not have any problems with it. Were any of you guys who had problems playing at higher volumes? Hopefully so, cause I don't usually turn it past 5 or 6.

Mr. Pickle 06-13-2005 12:01 AM

i had that amp for about a year and then i had to upgrade and now i use the bx3000t and i haven't had a single problem with either of them. I used the bx1200 for everything too, band practice, we used it a halo parties for sound, and we used to always hook cd players up to it so we could listen to a song before we tried. With behringer u get what u pay for but as long as you take care of it, it will be good to you.

i dig bx1200's no problem here

the_unknown_one1976 07-21-2005 05:56 AM

I've posted in this thread +/- half a year ago. Now, I've had my BX1200 for +/- a year and still no problems. The sound is great, i love it.

skingle 07-28-2005 05:05 AM

I have a couple of questions, how much is the 1200?

and is it 1200 watts or 120 watts?

thanks in advance

Tim_Tabasco 07-28-2005 02:22 PM

its 120watts

skapls - with mine its no problem to play higher volumes - master@max/gain@80%/bass@max it sound like i use distortion at this volume but thats what i want and it doesnt seem to do any dmg

since about 6months...

the_unknown_one1976 07-29-2005 02:43 AM

It's 120 watts, and I bought mine a year ago for +/- € 250.

bassman04 08-07-2005 04:06 AM

I got a 1200 on Thursday, it's fantastic, but your starting to scare the **** outta me now. My mate has the 600, he's had no problems.

The Great Scots 08-18-2005 03:22 AM

i have had the 1200 for half a year and can get any sound out of it, no problems at all and a great price.

squid 08-18-2005 05:37 PM

I've had mine for almost 2 years now and have never had one problem with it at all. Not even a blown fuse, and it's had it's share of time on stage as well..
(got too lazy to haul the stack around, thank god they had a decent PA)
It's a shame that everyone has ****ty luck with 'em.

Mr. Pickle 08-18-2005 06:12 PM

i still stand behind these amps 100%

MadStyleBass33 08-21-2005 08:58 PM

I have had my BX1200 for like 2 years and it has been used well. I have never had any problems with it whatsoever. It was a great deal for a great amp.

bass 'me' up 08-22-2005 07:35 PM

i had the bx1200 for 7months have had no problems maybe some are the unluckly ones

scranton531 09-01-2005 01:16 PM

Behringer cabs are the only thing worth buying, their speakers are great but their heads and combos (mostly combos) can't haldle enough unless they're just practice amps.

Best combo available Ampeg BA 210
-220 watts
-2 10" drivers
-stands up to a 100watt marshall 4x12 stack

well i personally am not a huge fan of behringer cabs. i think their papers cones are junk like a lot of hartke's bottom of the line paper stuff. Behringer products aren't the best quality, thats why they're so cheap, but i'm sure there are many musicians around here who are very happy behringer is around. for just starting out in a band (w/ no job) the bx1200 was absolutely incredible. treat your stuff how u'd want to be treated. (2nd grade stuff, buts it relevant when talking about behringer products)

TurnOnTheLight 09-05-2005 10:44 PM

From what I know about Behringer's. When they are functioning, they are the most bang for your buck.

paolo11998877 09-13-2005 02:22 PM

i had the same problem last year, so i changed my bx1200 and the new combo is still working good... may i ask you a question? how many times do you change your bass strings in a year? thank you..

i've had my bx3000t halfstack since.... january? it is absolutely amazing. i've had no problems with it. i regularly transport it from house to house to wherever else i may be playing, and i drive a 2 door grand am, so getting it in/out is not an easy, gentle process. it's a sturdy amp.

amosphoto.com 09-27-2005 08:55 AM

BX1200 broke

Yes, my BX1200 broke too. After several months of mostly bedroom playing it went out. Fortunatly, it was a couple of weeks in warranty. I have now had it about three years and it is working fine, but why couldn't they make it work right in the first place? The sub-bass effect always sounded crappy and clipped.

Mr. Pickle 09-27-2005 02:55 PM
why couldn't they make it work right in the first place?
why dont you try considering how much you paid for it?
The sub-bass effect always sounded crappy and clipped.
ultrabass? mine never clipped, but it was/is a stupid feature.

80sfollowerBass666 10-11-2005 12:07 PM

ive recently bought a BX4500H about.....a month ago now and its working perfectly mainly as i havent been to a band practice yet and havent managed to turn it up loud enough to kill it. mind you a 450watt half stack as a rehersal amp is a bit nuts so i was thinking of buying the BX1200 combo which, as someone said, is the most bang for your buck which it sure is .here in the UK ive seen it for about 140quid or something. tis great. but im not sure wether to buy it now. but i do know one thing. i ent givin it to my dad to fix if it blows....like my last amplfier he thought he could mend wen i blew the fuses.....*sniff* il never hear him again :(

just as a quick note. has anyone here ordered one of behringers super cheap stompboxes. they are like 15quid. i ordered mine aaaages ago the shipping date is constantly being pushed back does anyone know why?? its rly starting to feck me off lol.

but i dont mind i recently bought me an electro harmonix big muff. SUPER FUZZ! WEEE!....yeah oki.

yeah the ultrabass bass effect on my amp is terrible! its the only word to describe it. its just GAAAH! wots this clipping you say it does? its possibly wot mine does. *goes and tests it* right it seems to play the bass too loud for the speakers. it kinda has huge bass sound for a split second with wot only can be described as a "speaker fart" (dunno wot you guys call tht on here either) and then goes clean and it sounds nasty. is that wot your getting?
the other effect called shape i like though. makes the sound goes very very smooth and lovely.

chuckles 08-15-2006 02:51 PM

i've had this amp for bout 8 months i'd say, and i never had any problems with it blowing or anything of the sort. the only thing that happened was that the the footswitch went crazy, whereevery time i used it the buttons would do something different. but that appears to have sorted itself out. the sound from the amp is great, it took me a while to find one i like but thats just cos theres so much range on it. very good amp i must say

Mr. Pickle 08-15-2006 09:38 PM
it took me a while to find one i like but thats just cos theres so much range on it.
i'm going to have to disagree.

mafia_doctor 09-28-2006 10:09 PM

I bought an bx 1200 a year ago. I'm pleased with it, thats about all. It wasn't as loud as I was hoping. During band practice the 1200 would be full, the guitarists little 30 watt would be full, other guitarists 50 watt would be three quarters full and with the drums, I could barely hear myself. So I'm disapointed about that.

Tone controll is good.
As for problems and breakdowns, I've had none.

bass&cookies 09-28-2006 11:38 PM

mine is still holding up good. had it for almost two years now, push it almost to its limit almost every week against a b-52 halfstack. i ran my gk head through the speaker, and it really sounded surprisingly good.

kev_trb1006 09-29-2006 01:22 PM

I had my BX1200 until I discovered Ashdown MAG series, and therefore discovered GOOD tone, and then went on to discover Ashdown ABM series and therefore AWESOME tone. I feel bad now for selling it to someone, the only place it deserved to go was a junk yard.

Mr. Pickle 09-29-2006 11:41 PM

why, because it didn't have a tone you liked?

kev_trb1006 09-30-2006 05:29 AM

Well it is just my very strong opinion...
