ive owned a gsr200 for almost 1.5 years and im very happy with it. its my first bass and the only problems ive had with it is the strap falling off, nothing major but, i think i might have some wiring problems. this bass is good for all types of music. i highly recommend it to anyone whos starting out thats a little low on cahs because this bass is definitely worth every penny. i got mine for $209 at guitar center.

yeah it is an outstanding bass. i can take a lot of abuse... i umm dropped it a several times... heh.... olny thing i dont liek about it is the string spacing is a bit to far for comfort for me. but never the less awesome.

i have a gsr200..great bass for beginners..only prob i've had with it was when i first got it there was something wrong with the input jack..whenever the cord was pushed even a little bit to one side it would cut out on me..i replaced the jack with a new one and it fixed the problem.

this was my first bass as well and i absolutly love it, although at first i had a few issues at first i worked through them. i ripped out the fretts because i couldnt get rid of the buzz then i smoothed out the neck and lowerd the bridge and its now the best bass i own. id recomend it 2 anyone, beginers or pros alike

for me, the best all around bass is a squier p-bass, it was my first bass very cheap and **** well worth it, its a bass where you could let get dinged up a bit and wont care cuz its nothing spectactular yet it sounds awesome. highly recomended for a beginer looking for the right bass.

On the Ibanez website, it shows the GSR200 with 4 pick-ups, but when I go to most sites, it shows it having only 3 pick-ups. Are the 4 pick-up ones just new models? Does anyone know what it does? Just wondering, looking to buy my first bass and it looks like this is the best deal. Thanks.

Just like most people, the GSR200 was my first bass. I still have it as a matter of fact. It lasted me two years before I bought my Schecter AB-5. On the 200, I could never really get a sound that I liked. So, I always left both pick ups turned all the way up with the tone knob all the way up, as well. Other than that, it's a great bass. It's good for almost everything. My action is ridiculously high, and I haven't gotten around to lowering it yet. Well, it was low, but lots of buzzing had me set it extremely high. Then I played my Schecter with really low action, and I realized how dumb I was for setting the action up that high on the bass. Once I get around to lowering, I'll probably play my four a little more often. Other than that, it's a great bass. My 200 didn't have bad wiring or anything of the sort. It took a couple beatings and it's stilll holding up.
