I think people are starting to dig classic rock more and more because they can actually play their instruments well. Most bands now a days just wear their guitars.

jools_morrissyswan 03-17-2004 11:44 AM

Classic Rock, Buddy Holly :) So Good.

mulletron 03-17-2004 12:52 PM

I love classic rock. More and more people at my school have started listening to classic rock bands, so its definetly on the increase.

Reptile_Orion 03-17-2004 01:04 PM

Classic rock is also my favorite genre of rock n roll. I like some of the more recent bands but they pale in comparison to bands before them. My favorite classic rock artists are David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Cream, the Who, and Pink Floyd. The Stooges are really good too.

superpeer 03-17-2004 01:12 PM

Dire straits, led zeppelin, the doors. :)

Alternative_Death 03-17-2004 01:13 PM

im a huge fan of bands such as led zeppelin, rush, the beatles, cream, and the who, but the whole catagory of "classic rock" seems debatable. start with 3 bands: the beatles, led zeppelin, rush. they can all be classified as classic rock but dont really sound remotely the same. Led zepplin is blues/rock mainly, the bealtes are brit pop/rock, and rush are a prog rock band, but they can all be considered as classic rock since i guess they reached success during the 60s and 70s. so when i hear people saying "i only like classic rock" they are talking about pretty much any band that played anything but punk from the early 60s to the early 80s. So, you could assume they like bands such as canned heat and the greatful dead which they might of never even heard of. So, i guess its a catagory such as grunge, which basically sums up bands that grew popular in a certain era of time. and about classic rock today, check out the datsuns, they seem like AC/DC meets led zeppelin.

Can
The Clash
King Crimson
Emerson, Lake & Palmer (cheesy as hell but I still like 'em)
Yes

(bit of a prog fan)

xDeViAnTx 03-17-2004 02:38 PM

Dire Straits
The Eagles
Thin Lizzy
Scorpions

BludgeonySteve 03-17-2004 07:06 PM

Classic rock is by far the best kind of music.

Why did I have to be born in the late 80s? :upset: I'll never get to see Zeppelin in concert.

Badmoon 03-17-2004 07:11 PM

I forgot to add The Allman Brothers, who are one of the greatest jam bands ever. I recomend everyone here buy the album Eat a Peach, I did a review of it in the CD review board, just incase anyone wants my opinion on it.

ZEROthirtythree 03-17-2004 07:19 PM

There is this group of freshmen boys at my highschool that call themselves "classic rock freaks." Yet all they own is their dad's copy of "LZ IV" and "The Wall"

Why buy another one if your dad has it? I borrow all of my dad's cds and records.

Badmoon 03-17-2004 07:42 PM
"LZ IV" and "The Wall"
I find both those albums over rated up the arse.

eat a peach is brilliant
i like little martha the best
its one of my all time favorite songs

FrailandBedazzled1979 03-17-2004 09:33 PM

you people are forgetting Boston and Triumph!!!

big80smullet 03-17-2004 09:38 PM

I think classic rock is any music that stands the test of time. If its still good ten or twenty years later and doesnt fade away then its classic rock. Assuming its rock in the first place of course. So in that case Yes AcDc is Classic rock

BludgeonySteve 03-17-2004 09:43 PM

As I see it rock N roll is whenever and classic rock is old rock N roll such as the bands that we have been talking about. I guess the darkness might be rock N roll but they certainly aren't good. And they aren't classic rock because they are recent.

superpeer 03-18-2004 11:49 AM

My dad :p

FrailandBedazzled1979 03-18-2004 11:57 AM

lol, what albums? i reccomend "demons and wizards" (not hansi and schaffers album lol), and "look at yourself", their self titled album and "salisbury" are both good as well and "the magicians b-day" isa decent effort.

superpeer 03-18-2004 12:14 PM

I'm not sure, lol.

He usually buys greatest hits things, so if they have that, he'll have it.
