Meh, I listened to Destroyer Of Senses and it was ok.. I'm more of a Killswitch Engage(since they got more popular with KsE and Chimaira, I think) guy, maybe if I listened to some more songs I'll really like them.

Good band, i bought of one blood at their show last year. Good stuff.

I really like this album, I have heard mixed opinions about them on this site... A lot of people throw them into the mix with Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage, these guys are definately a lot more talented then both of those bands.

I would give this album a 9/10 partly because of how amazing the cover of Welcome to the machine is.

jon donais (lead guitar) imo has the best (artificial,pinch) harmonics that i have ever heard. better than zakk wylde's by far.

thoughts without words is a great song 8,9/10
the idiot box has a great video 9,10/10
there performances on the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival 2003 DVD were awesome

I purchased a few cd's yesterday, and with the popularity of this CD on this site, I got it. I am really disappointed. What a waste. :( The music is decent, but I was not aware that Shadows Fall was metal-core-ish. I've listened to the Cd 3 times now, and I'm hoping it will grow on me, but I don't see what you guys see in this band. They are meh...

I finally got around to buying this album today, and after listening to all of it, I'd have to agree with most of the people in this thread, that it is very good, but not as brilliant as a lot of people say it is, and that the band doesn't deserve all of the criticism it gets from the "purists" out there.

There are some great songs on here (Art of Balance, Thoughts without words, Stepping outside the circle) but it does get a bit same-y in the middle with Mystery of one spirit and the idiot box.

I just listened to the Idiot Box, it dominates, best new thrash for a while, though the vocals suck, what is with thrash bands these days having **** vocals

Am I the only one who likes Brian Fair? Phil Labonte was good, but he didn't work quite as well with Shadows Fall.

got the war within. i want to check this one out too. i havent heard any tracks off this one though. good review too.
