i love the mosquito song.
Without a doubt the standout track on this album IMHO.

Jellyspoon 08-05-2004 07:56 AM

Meh, I used to like this CD, but I don't really like it any more. 3/5. large parts of it bore me nowadays.

Tangy zizzle 08-06-2004 12:43 AM

Mark has never played guitar for QOTSA.

br3ad_man 08-06-2004 05:53 AM

I think "First It Giveth" is the best song on here.

Jack_Vintageguy 11-20-2004 12:28 PM

How come no one's mentioned the last track after Mosquito? Maybe I have a special edition, I dunno. It's called "Everybody's gonna be happy". I don't like it. I wish I had the normal one...:upset:

I got a DVD with some live video's on it too, maybe mine is a different version.

Tangy zizzle 11-20-2004 04:20 PM

There's nothing wrong with Everybody's Gonna be Happy, it's an awesome song. It's a Kinks cover.

Seriously? Never knew that.

Then again, I don't think he's ever played guitar for the Twilight Singers, and he frequently collaborates with them (him).

What did he do on stage when they were performing songs that didn't have him on vocals? Did he do backing vocals?

br3ad_man 11-20-2004 07:09 PM

Maybe he just sat in the corner?

Tangy zizzle 11-20-2004 08:48 PM

^ Yeah he basically does.

He stands off stage/back stage. He smokes as many cigarettes as he can until he has to sing a song. It's quite jocular watching him stroll on and off.

Don't worry, I got that version aswell :) Anyway, I don't like Nick's voice, it's horrible. Also, my disc has lots of scratches on it so I miss half of the song A Song for the Deaf :upset:

Iai 11-27-2004 09:48 AM

Ouch. A Song For The Deaf is my favourite on the album.

Iai 11-27-2004 09:49 AM

Oh, if anyone was wondering what that beeping is at the beginning of the album, it's the sound my dad's car makes when he hasn't put his seatbelt on. I guess* Josh Homme has the same car.

*hope, because that'd be cool

I should use that service which fixes your broken CDs

QOTSA has to be my favourite rock band making music right now.

I absolutely love this album.

Pale-Folklore 11-27-2004 08:59 PM

It's a very very good album, i remember buying it about two years ago when i was only eleven and loving it :D I like it even more now. Oh yeah, good review. Isn't the hidden track like "hahahahahahahahahahaha"?

4.5/5
