My bass didn't come today :(.
That sucks :(

gaslight 10-09-2009 07:43 AM

Yeah, hopefully tomorrow I guess.

funkyhoney 10-09-2009 07:46 AM

Tomorrow is a Satttttuuurrrrday.

gaslight 10-09-2009 07:49 AM

Yeah, I'll drop in to the music store anyway. It might have arrived today and they hadn't gotten around to ringing me.

funkyhoney 10-09-2009 07:55 AM

Heh, you'll arrive and they'll be like "ohh... right... about that."

gaslight 10-09-2009 08:04 AM

You know that Groundskeeper Willie, well apparently he got himself one of them mail-order bribes, but he's too cheap to pay the hand-over fee, so she's just sitting in a crate down at the post office.

funkyhoney 10-09-2009 08:11 AM

Wanna go stare?

I love old Simpsons. LOVE.

fatbandit 10-09-2009 10:03 AM

sup

FunkMetalBass 10-09-2009 10:13 AM

Nm. Just made a $500+ credit card payment and paid it off, so that feels good. Now I just have to pay off my other credit card. **sigh**

Sup witchu?

fatbandit 10-09-2009 11:16 AM

I love not wallowing in debt. Not to rub it in...

Just listening to Glassjaw, contemplating what amp to buy to make me sound like Glassjaw XD

BenJammin 10-09-2009 11:19 AM

Chris, is this you?

fatbandit 10-09-2009 11:30 AM

No, but how on earth is that fail? That's amazing!

BenJammin 10-09-2009 11:32 AM
No, but how on earth is that fail? That's amazing!
And it is precisely because of reasoning like that that I asked if it was you. :p

fatbandit 10-09-2009 11:59 AM

Haha our postboxes aren't designed like that, or I would totally be sat/asleep in them ;)

FunkMetalBass 10-09-2009 12:22 PM
Haha our postboxes aren't designed like that, or I would totally be sat/asleep in them ;)
You UKers and your weird post boxes...

fatbandit 10-09-2009 12:27 PM

Proper post boxes you mean ;p

gaslight 10-09-2009 12:52 PM

Look it up? :p

And that post box thing is nowhere near a fail. That is tops.

That is an overzealous fail tag. A fail fail.

fatbandit 10-09-2009 12:55 PM

Oh, it's an Ampeg Portaflex combo with a Proco Rat, blended with a clean DI signal, I know that :p

I just want a separate head and cab, and to go all grindtastic without needing a Rat :)

gaslight 10-09-2009 12:57 PM

You can probably dial it in with the rat and some EQ tweaking.

I want to buy another head and cab even though I already have a great one of both. I'm terrible :(. It isn't even for a good reason other than I want "portable" rig. Certainly not a good enough reason to blow like $5G.

I don't even have $5G.

fatbandit 10-09-2009 12:59 PM

It doesn't even sound like a Rat to me. It just is, because I know it is. I'm getting an M9, and that has a Rat model so I'll give it a blast, but I don't want to rely on that for my main tone, y'know?

FunkMetalBass 10-09-2009 01:05 PM

I considered getting a Rat. Great gritty tones.

gaslight 10-09-2009 01:18 PM

Yeah man, having an overdriven main tone would just be ghastly.

Pluperfect_Arson 10-09-2009 01:24 PM
Yeah man, having an overdriven main tone would just be ghastly.
It would be!

fatbandit 10-09-2009 01:29 PM

No, it'd be sweet as! But I want to get it from my amp rather than rely on a pedal :p

Efrim 10-09-2009 01:36 PM
I'm up, too.
Go back to sleep. It's time for your afternoon nap.

Pluperfect_Arson 10-09-2009 01:37 PM
No, it'd be sweet as! But I want to get it from my amp rather than rely on a pedal :p
Yeah, I am kind of in the boat of "If I can not make it with my amp, I do not want it at all" kind of deal.

I have owned one pedal, and it was a DD-6.

fatbandit 10-09-2009 01:44 PM

Don't get me wrong, I love pedals :p Just always wanted a brutal sounding amp, and my amp right now isn't brutal enough.

Pluperfect_Arson 10-09-2009 01:48 PM

Dude, play through a V4, so ****ing loud and awesome sounding.

Model Ts, not so much. :(

fatbandit 10-09-2009 01:48 PM

Loud, but is it filthy sounding?

if it doesn't sound like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjcB6HS3t_Y

I'm not interested :p

Pluperfect_Arson 10-09-2009 02:07 PM

You could probably manage to achieve that tone.

I need to fiddle with it more, to see everything it can pull off.

gaslight 10-09-2009 02:17 PM

Haha, a cool tone for special occasions but I'd never want to sound like that all the time it just wouldn't be versatile enough. Fits that song like a glove though. I don't mind Glassjaw but I haven't heard heaps of their songs I've just got Worship & Tribute.

Jody LeCompte 10-09-2009 02:19 PM

Sup casual?

I went and saw BTBAM, 3 Inches of Blood, The Faceless, and In Flames last week. Best show ever.

Pluperfect_Arson 10-09-2009 02:22 PM

How was BTBAM with their new music?

At least, I assume they played a few songs off the new record.

Jody LeCompte 10-09-2009 02:27 PM

They only played one, Obfuscation, 9 and a half minutes of goodness. They played that, Selkies(which for some reason was the only time a moshpit broke out :(), Foam Born (a) The Backtrack, and Autodidact. It was also unfortunate that the sound guy just completely took the piss during their set...

fatbandit 10-09-2009 03:05 PM

A 4 band line up where I only like one band? I'd go if it wasn't too expensive.

And get Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence, gaslight. It's better than Worship and Tribute. The tone does work all the time, because it isn't as hard hitting as that when you don't pick as hard :)

gaslight 10-09-2009 03:09 PM

I dunno man, I'm not sure I could get away with that tone across the range of stuff I end up having to play :p.

It'd work in an original band though if you wanted to keep that vibe through all your songs, for darn sure.

I think I will get them album dude, sounds fun.
