I like English weather. Chaotic is where it's at!

I just tuned my guitar and the talkin' blues sequence sounds so cleancut and sharp. I love it.
I..hate *envy* you. I live in south Florida, where he weather stays the same all freaking year long. Moist, and hot. It gets a wee bit colder in these months, but not enough to need a jacket. The coldest day we've had so far was in early november..
cold=suckage, be happy. when it snows its 1000x worse.

AIRIC 12-19-2006 02:44 PM

Meh. Right now I want summer to come, in summer I'll be wishign for winter. It's nice to have something to look forward to in the weather and having freezing/fuckin' hot weather year round would suck.

bigblondeafro87 12-19-2006 03:06 PM

the only disavantage of it being cold is that I can't spend as much time outside walking around/ finding spontaneous things to do, and there less brush to hide from people in. And being under of the influence of anything is much more fun in the warm. And camping is a ton more fun

AIRIC 12-19-2006 03:18 PM

This is all true but dude you gotta pick up snowboarding and find a house party:)

asdf 12-19-2006 03:26 PM

To try and bring this thread back to what it is, does anyone have any DIY sled ideas?

A few years ago I used this top of a small table from my backyard, but it didn't work too well, and I ended up scratching it a lot. My parents still don't know what the hell happened to it.

I don't have any good sleds. :(

Flagjacket 12-19-2006 03:38 PM

I've always wanted to try a couch cushion of some sort with a grabge bag affixed to the bottom.

That's definitely a new one.

coheneran 12-19-2006 03:49 PM

How about cutting out a reindeer's stomach, sawing its legs off, stretching its lungs' membrane on its underside (also good to cover the hole up), tying the intestines to its horns and using it as a sled with reins (it is a reindeer after all)? If you're in a festive mood, you can also add fairy lights to the intestines.

Our own Martha Stewart...Treekiller!

Sunshine 12-19-2006 04:03 PM

Some garbage can lids work, but you gotta have the right shape and the snow has to be deep enough.

bleep_bloop 12-19-2006 04:31 PM

its fucking cold here right now

Flagjacket 12-19-2006 04:56 PM

We actually hjaven't gotten any snow. I hope the Gods are holding back until mid-January to totally blast the shit out of us with ten feet of snow.

Danger Bird 12-19-2006 05:00 PM

I've gotten like 5 snow days. I stayed inside though.

Feel The Darkness 12-19-2006 05:03 PM

It's mid-December and it's fucking 75 degrees outside. It was 85 last week. :upset:

In Taiwan if it goes below 80 then people start wearing winter jackets.

AIRIC 12-19-2006 07:53 PM

If your school cafeteria has plastic lunch trays.. the kind that you return to them so they can wash. They work great for packed snow sledding.

bleep_bloop 12-19-2006 08:03 PM

hey sunshine is it as cold in sierra vista as it is here in tucson?

Sunshine 12-19-2006 10:32 PM

It's been snowing on and off all day long.

It went from like 50 to 36 degrees.

bleep_bloop 12-19-2006 11:09 PM

i feel your pain. minus the snow.

nitzguy 12-20-2006 08:50 AM

there is always the cardboard sled. has to be on packed snow.

if you have any old leather chair coushins you can use them too, granted they don't work that well.

Sunshine 12-20-2006 09:13 AM

Haha, oh well.

I wonder what it's like in Phoenix...we're driving up later today 'cause we're flying to Canada [COLD AS A BITCH] to go snowboarding and we leave at like 7:30 in the moring. What a suck-ass flight time, we have to be up by like 4~4:30 =/

On a subject slightly more related to this thread, I got a sewing machine for my birthday yesterday.

Yay.

All my hand-stitched clothing sucks, I don't know how I had the [figurative] balls to wear all that in public. Some of those skirts are about to fall right in 2.

coheneran 12-20-2006 09:16 AM

You should persuade your family to hop freights and hitch rides to Canada instead. Commercial flights are the fastest growing source of pollution or something.

Sunshine 12-20-2006 09:57 AM

I don't want my board to get broken, Nitro doesn't make Shoguns anymore =(

coheneran 12-20-2006 10:48 AM

You live in Arizona, isn't there lots of sand or something? I hear sandboarding can get pretty extreme.

Sunshine 12-20-2006 01:46 PM

SryDB.

Nothx.

And yeah, I live in AZ.

Now.

But I have a SNOWboard.

Because I lived in Japan.

And we snowboarded.

There's no sand where I live, I live 1/2 way up in the mountains, it's all dirt =/

coheneran 12-20-2006 01:56 PM

Mountain-boarding!

AIRIC 12-20-2006 02:02 PM

I'm going to Utah for snowboarding in Febuary.

Pumped.

Sunshine 12-20-2006 02:05 PM

Snowboarding >>> other boarding.

Utah?

Cool.

We're going to Tahoe later in the year, probably Colorado somewheres, most likely Flagstaff, and if it looks good, Mt. Lemon right o'er there in Tucson.

AIRIC 12-20-2006 02:09 PM

I'm not sure if it's Utah or not. I think we're going to Mammoth so wherever that is.

I'm going with my cousin and uncle. I love my family so much I went to Hawaii with them in September and now snowboarding in Febuary.

Pumped.

Sunshine 12-20-2006 02:11 PM

Mammoth = California, but still cool.

The Ska Man 12-20-2006 02:14 PM

Lately?

The Ska Man 12-20-2006 10:39 PM
Lately?
...ok, a while ago =P. I just think it's becoming rather useless, when way back when, it used to be really helpful.

Danger Bird 12-20-2006 10:51 PM

Well you have to actually ask questions if you want it to be useful.
