Ah yes, I knew you would. Clarity is brilliant, my good mate showed me some tracks from it on the bus today and I dug it. The second song is like
JEW is a solid band.

Clarity is a great album when you are feeling it.

br3ad_man 09-12-2005 04:52 PM

I thought you would like them. There are some really really brilliant songs on that album.

Happymeal 09-12-2005 05:08 PM

Haven't had the time for full albums lately so some songs from

Antony and The Johnsons
Deltron 3030
various Kool Keith
Mission of Burma
Boris(Bartender listen to the song "A Bao A Qu")
Gospel

Zappa 09-12-2005 05:33 PM

Pavement's Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain and Slowdive's Souvlaki and Elliott Smith's Roman Candle and Brian Eno's Another Green World.

YDload 09-12-2005 06:14 PM
Yeah. Iai lost about all respect I had for him with that statement.
They're pretty all right for a newer metal band, certainly not horrible. But there's a user around named Trivium who's a huge faggo, so that might be one external reason why the band gets a bad rap.

BillCosby 09-12-2005 06:17 PM
Yeah. Iai lost about all respect I had for him with that statement.
I wouldn't say I lost respect, but I'm very surprised.

Okay, I'll try to. The only copy I can find so far (on eBay) is expensive, though.

Happymeal 09-12-2005 06:56 PM

Lots of music from Epitonic, I've been going on a 'follow the trail of recommended artists' spree.

Fun.

I've followed a trail from jazz to emo, then from emo to beatboxing, then from beatboxing to dub. Some of this music is really amazingly good/strange.

asymm 09-12-2005 11:26 PM
Should I care about the new Black Dice? Creature Comforts was ok but not that great.
If you've liked Black Dice in the past, this isn't too far of a departure really. I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot at least. Two albums after it though, it seems that Beaches and Canyons really will remain their top form.

The NPC 09-13-2005 01:26 AM

Donald Byrd - Electric Byrd

I've done that a few times. I always end up listening to bands that I will later get into, but never really dig at the time, not really sure why.

On another note, "The Sky Is Falling" by Blackalicious gives me the chills.

br3ad_man 09-13-2005 05:22 AM

Me as well, that is a great track. New album this month.

Senor_Whippy 09-13-2005 08:39 AM

Nothing has really amazed me lately.

Neutral Milk Hotel are pretty cool.

snidget 09-13-2005 05:41 PM

I'm listening to Surfer Rosa right now. I think I finally get it, I used to think it was just a four-chord rock album (which it kind of is), but it just seems so much better now.

Happymeal 09-13-2005 05:50 PM

Little Brother's The Minstrel Show. Bought it after classes today. So far, seems to be on par, perhaps better, than any other mainstream hip hop release this year. But I've only listened to it one and half times, too soon to tell. I also listened to some Nick Drake in the morning and New York Dolls in the afternoon.
