Ah yes, I knew you would. Clarity is brilliant, my good mate showed me some tracks from it on the bus today and I dug it. The second song is like
JEW is a solid band. Clarity is a great album when you are feeling it. |
I thought you would like them. There are some really really brilliant songs on that album.
|
Haven't had the time for full albums lately so some songs from
Antony and The Johnsons Deltron 3030 various Kool Keith Mission of Burma Boris(Bartender listen to the song "A Bao A Qu") Gospel |
Pavement's Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain and Slowdive's Souvlaki and Elliott Smith's Roman Candle and Brian Eno's Another Green World.
I fit with the Alt&Indie in crowd today. |
Trivium - Ascendancy (4/5 - this one surprised me a lot)
'
Wow. |
Boris(Bartender listen to the song "A Bao A Qu")
From which release? |
'
Wow.
Yeah. Iai lost about all respect I had for him with that statement. |
From which release?
Mabuta No Ura(film soundtrack) |
Yeah. Iai lost about all respect I had for him with that statement.
They're pretty all right for a newer metal band, certainly not horrible. But there's a user around named Trivium who's a huge faggo, so that might be one external reason why the band gets a bad rap. |
Yeah. Iai lost about all respect I had for him with that statement.
I wouldn't say I lost respect, but I'm very surprised. |
Woody Guthrie - The Asch Recordings (Vol 1 - 4) - 5/5
Hank Williams - 40 Greatest Hits - 5/5 Bread and Roses - Bread and Roses - 4/5 |
Wire - 154
Black Dice - Beaches and Canyons and a lil bit of Merzbow... all that I could handle. |
Mabuta No Ura(film soundtrack)
Okay, I'll try to. The only copy I can find so far (on eBay) is expensive, though. |
Okay, I'll try to. The only copy I can find so far (on eBay) is expensive, though.
I can send you the song if you want. |
If you have the time, that would be great :)
EDIT: Thanks, and sorry I had to leave straight away :-/ |
The Deftones - White Pony
|
Jimmy Eat World - Clarity
Sigur Ros - Takk Dredg - El Cielo Mogwai - Happy Songs For Happy People |
Lots of music from Epitonic, I've been going on a 'follow the trail of recommended artists' spree.
Fun. I've followed a trail from jazz to emo, then from emo to beatboxing, then from beatboxing to dub. Some of this music is really amazingly good/strange. |
Should I care about the new Black Dice? Creature Comforts was ok but not that great.
If you've liked Black Dice in the past, this isn't too far of a departure really. I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot at least. Two albums after it though, it seems that Beaches and Canyons really will remain their top form. |
Donald Byrd - Electric Byrd
|
muse, radiohead, oasis, coldplay

Fun. I've followed a trail from jazz to emo, then from emo to beatboxing, then from beatboxing to dub. Some of this music is really amazingly good/strange.
I've done that a few times. I always end up listening to bands that I will later get into, but never really dig at the time, not really sure why. On another note, "The Sky Is Falling" by Blackalicious gives me the chills. |
Me as well, that is a great track. New album this month.
|
New Franz Ferdinand album (9/10) it's better than the debut by miles. But shhh don't their label.

Nothing has really amazed me lately.
Neutral Milk Hotel are pretty cool. |
I'm listening to Surfer Rosa right now. I think I finally get it, I used to think it was just a four-chord rock album (which it kind of is), but it just seems so much better now.
|
Dino Jr.

Oh my geez. |
Little Brother's The Minstrel Show. Bought it after classes today. So far, seems to be on par, perhaps better, than any other mainstream hip hop release this year. But I've only listened to it one and half times, too soon to tell. I also listened to some Nick Drake in the morning and New York Dolls in the afternoon.
