Elements.. I quite like that album.
Blueyxd - Clouding |
Elements is a fantastic album, though I prefer Unquestionable Presence. I think Piece of Time is slightly too much on the death metal side, and Elements is slightly too much on the jazz side. They got it just right with UP.
Thinking of it, Piece of Time has the advantage of actually having Roger Patterson on bass, before he died, but he wrote all the bass parts for Unquestionable Presence before the crash, so that kind of makes up for it. Would've been better if Patterson hadn't died though. Actually, if Patterson hadn't died, Choy would never have left Cynic to play on Elements, and so Sean Malone wouldn't have gotten his break into the music world playing on Cynic, and so we might not have got Gordian Knot. :( This is difficult.. I've resolved to post less in this thread, so expect any posts I do make will be long, like this one :) Have either of you (mekka and blue) heard Unquestionable Presence, or Piece of Time? NP The Meads of Asphodel - A Healer Made God A really good UK metal band. They get called black metal, but I think they're more of a mix of all things metal from the past 30 years or so. Quite heavily influenced by Hawkwind, and totally anti-Christian..the solo in this track is just awesome though. |

I've heard only Mother Man and UP from UP, which I don't like as nearly much as Elements. From Piece Of Time I've heard Piece Of Time, and I like that more than the UP songs, but not as much those off Elements. I want to get some more from each.
