I was scared poopless when I got my first place. I don't know what your circumstances are but I was asked to leave my home at 17, I had a suitcase and about 3500 bucks. are you working anywhere currently?
oops, and a car.
I'm just moving out because I'm 22 and graduated and don't want to leech off my mom any longer. I've got about $4k to my name, and no job atm. No transportation either, but most things are walking distance. This is my gap year between degrees. Edit: re: WoW: it's about time. Good for you, haha. |
I miss my days of RuneScape. **sigh**
|
seriously, my house just fell apart around me while I got my dailies done.
|
That's rough. Sadly, not the only person I've talked to who has told similar stories.
I think you'll enjoy having more free time. |
I stopped playing 3 weeks ago, it's been great.
|
"Guess what? My breath still smells like your dad's dick."
I love Jon Dore. |
wut?
|
wut?
Have you not heard of Jon Dore? He's got a show on the Comedy Network, he's a Canadian comedian. His show is hilarious. That line comes from an episode where he's trying to learn to trash talk and such, so he tries learning from this guy and tests out his skills while playing basketball with him. |
I don't watch TV, so I'm a bit out of the loop, especially with comedians.
|
Gotcha.
Have you been reading anything good lately? I'm currently reading a Sherlock Holmes anthology with 22 of the stories. It's the first time I'm reading any of this stuff and I'm really enjoying it. I've been very into detective stories lately. |
Truthfully, no. I've been so inundated with stuff that reading just hasn't been something I've had time for. Hopefully going to change that soon enough, once I get moved in and have a bit more free time.
|
I've just finished reading The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep and Ubik in succession and am now reading A Scanner Darkly.

Stop your science fiction and read his Voices in the Street. I get my plumbing all fixed tomorrow! And meet a pretty girl! One of those things has definite positive results. Who knows on the other one. |

Once I get income, I'll start buying books again. I just need a job. >_>

Work at a library and slaughter two birds with one phone book. |
I'm not allowed to work tonight because I hurt my wrist at work yesterday morning. So much for getting some extra cash.

That's what I'm saying. the other has no definite results, and the other, with my luck/personality, has highly questionable results. Good thing I'm the hopeful type. |
If not, there's always roofies.
|
Isn't that what hopeful means?
Anyway, I'm off to bed, there's still a bunch of grant applications I need to work on tomorrow. |
BAAAIIII JEESSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
I'm going to play more PS3 now I've successfully evaded work. And make a half-arsed attempt to organise a movie tonight. |
Does anybody know, off-hand, what the antiderivative of (y dy)/(1 + y^2) is?
I don't have my old calculus book with all of the awesome integrals and I don't much feel like going through the effort of integrating it by parts. |
I pushed all that information out of my skull to make room for my wealth of alcoholic knowledge.
|
Work it out the hard way, it'll be good for your brain.
|
I did. It's just such a trivial step in my differential equation problem that I didn't want to do it.
|
Not so smart now, are we maths boy?
