ok thanks much douche
Sorry, I didn't mean to make you do your own work.

Mattijuana 01-03-2008 02:24 PM

bunit: Darkthrone, Burzum, Beherit, Angmar (you'll like them if you like WITTR), and Bathory and Celtic Frost are always classic.

That should get you started...

Look at bands on Metal Archives.

lol no, i havnt really delved really deep into the genre
but i plan on it

negrodamus 01-03-2008 02:28 PM

Burzum is meh.

Mattijuana 01-03-2008 02:29 PM

No... YOU!

Silenius 01-03-2008 02:30 PM

Emperor, Ulver, Burzum, Immortal, MArduk, Dissection are all bands most people listen to when getting into the genre...

Mattijuana 01-03-2008 02:30 PM

Ugh Dissection
Ugh Marduk

The rest of those are good

masscows 01-03-2008 02:31 PM

Ugh Marduk barely even counts as music let alone black metal.

negrodamus 01-03-2008 02:31 PM
No... YOU!
idk I've listened to 3 Burzum albums, and they all had some cool parts, but none of them were mind blowing.

Silenius 01-03-2008 02:32 PM

Obviously most people's tastes also change after listening to the genre for a while. :p

Heh, let's hope so. Maybe this guy can become a regular contributor to our R&M family.

Which ones/How many times did you listen to them?

EDIT: sup 300

masscows 01-03-2008 02:34 PM

I still like Dissection, but they aren't really black metal anyway.

negrodamus 01-03-2008 02:37 PM

Hvis lyset tar oss, Det som engang var, and Burzum in that order. I liked DSEV the most. I've listened to Burzum once, and the other two twice.

Mattijuana 01-03-2008 02:39 PM

That's not enough. The first time I listened to Burzum, I absolutely hated it. I listened to it and thought: 'Wow do people actually like this garbage' then, about 3 months later I decided to test Burzum once again and listened to DSEV. It absolutely blew me away and I've been a fan ever since.

I plan on listening to them a few more times. I don't think Burzum is bad, just a little overrated.

gmoneyguy 01-03-2008 02:41 PM

I was basically the same with Burzum.

Catfish: Its just one guy.

Tyler 01-03-2008 02:41 PM

I liked Burzum a lot more initially than I do now.

I know.

Invicta_Veritas 01-03-2008 04:29 PM

I dunno, I pretty much enjoyed Burzum the first time. But I do think that for most people, it's an acquired taste.

It also takes some background knowledge to really, truly appreciate Varg's work.

Silenius 01-03-2008 04:33 PM

I still enjoy the three black metal releases a lot.

Slaapkamers 01-03-2008 04:33 PM
It also takes some background knowledge to really, truly appreciate Varg's work.
no it doesn't

I know a good amount about him. Doesn't really affect how much I like him.

No it doesn't.

Mattijuana 01-03-2008 05:12 PM

I'd probably like Burzum more if I didn't know about Varg's background...

a psychotic aryan supremacist that's in jail for killing someone and burning down a bunch of churches?

Slaapkamers 01-03-2008 05:15 PM

he'd be a lot cooler if he would kill you
