it's much kooler to do a real jam :)

slash89 07-30-2004 12:59 PM

I like Kirk's style! He is just so cool when he plays!

superpeer 07-30-2004 01:01 PM

Kirk looks kinda ghey to me. (a)

Mekkalayakay 07-30-2004 01:02 PM

If he shaved his head, grew a bushy mustache, and wore a golden chain around his neck with his chest hair hanging out, then yes, I see what you mean.

Kreator 07-30-2004 01:02 PM

yeah he looked so ghey with short hair and his piercing

superpeer 07-30-2004 01:04 PM

He still looks kinda ghey without his curly hair. :p

micro5h1t 07-30-2004 01:28 PM

Metallica :(

I recenlty saw metallica at download glasgow. I have NEVER been so disappointed in my life. It all sounds the same, and its so DULL. The highlight of their set was the fireworks :( Is ther anyone else here who was at download in glasgow green.

PS. korn and slipknot wer also ther :) they kicked ***.

Riffmeister9 07-30-2004 02:07 PM

Kirk is by far better off with his long hair.

M_Hudson 07-30-2004 02:19 PM

Yeah kirk looks best with long hair

clearvision 07-30-2004 02:29 PM

HE still looks like a little b!tch to me :) IS their next album gonna be any good? I think it might, but then again, maybe it wont. DO they need a new bassist?

SGdudeSG 07-30-2004 02:31 PM

why do people flame metallica? there a good band with good music, well thats an opinion but a fact is they are increadibly talented at there inturments

clearvision 07-30-2004 02:37 PM

People flame metallica because they have been a bit poo since the black album. Also Lars was a bit of a cunt with the napster thing. But think about Kirk standing next to Hetfield, who is the man out of them..Hetfield...Kirk looks a whiney be0tch. End of.

Orion7 07-30-2004 03:13 PM

Yeah, but Kirk can shred like a muthaf**** which is what matters.

And have any of you listened to Apocalyptica? Dunno if this has been discussed yet, but they're like a string quartet who does Metallica songs. It's kinda cool...

playguitar 07-30-2004 04:50 PM

It doesn't matter what kirk looks like...or James, or Lars, or Rob, as long as they keep playing well.

I hate it when people say they want the old Metallica back. I'll tell you a little secret on how to get the old Metallica back, what you do is go grab that greatly loved Master Of Puppets album and put it on. Do you realize how boring it would be if Metallica made the same album over and over again. A lot of people say they want the old Metallica back but if Metallica made the same album over and over again then people probably would be saying something like "Metallica is boring now can't they do something new."

Good for Metallica for constantly trying something new and experimenting. Good for them that they are brave enough to do something without the permission of their fan base and to write the way they see fit. If they keep experimenting there is no doubt in my mind that they will stumble upon something new and great.

I will tell you what, guy:
I'm playing for about a week and a half now. I'm VERY new to guitar(Though not that new to music generally). Now, I took "Frantic", and played it all ****ing through... In some time, I could do it clean. I don't concider writing a song consisting of maby 10 notes a great deal of writing. ****, on "Nothing else matters", one song of their classic albums that is considered "easy", and "Beginner stuff", I've been ****ing struggling for days through, 'till I could do it close to something that sounds as a resemblance of what they have actually done. Now, see the differance? "Frantic", "New Metallica"=3hrs of practice to play fluently. "Nothing Else Matters", a beginner song of the "Classic Metallica"= Something about 3 weeks of practice to be played fluently.

Now, if you know basic math, you would see that claasic metallica is something about AT LEAST(24:3x7x3=24x7=)168 times more proffesional and complicated , not speaking about good-sounding than the "New Metallica".

If you still say that "Classical Metallica"="New Metallica" now, you must've not visited school one day in your whole life. Or you are just a complete jerk.

And for the record, I think that St.Anger wouldn't be that bad of an album if we all didn't know that it was Metallica... I mean, for an average "New Metal" band those days, it can be look upon as one album quite on a level... I mean comparing to Slipknot and Korn and such... ****, god****ingdanm! Look to what level have we degenerated! :upset:

superpeer 07-31-2004 07:08 AM

True.

I never said that new Metallica is better because by far it isn't. I completely agree with you on the fact that old classic Metallica is by far more sophisticated and intricate. But one thing you have to understand, yes they may have thrown all of their sophistication out of the window, but you can't expect a band like Metallica who has always kept changing to do something they have already done. It would be absolutely pointless to make another Master Of Puppets CD because they have already done it. Evey album they have made was very different from the last (exception of Load and Reload but they are basically the same album anyways). I'm am perfectly fine with people saying they dislike St. Anger but I just do not like it when they say to go backwards. "There is no u-turn sign in Metallica's road"(paraphrased from Hetfield, Uranium interview May 2003).

slayer_fan_91 07-31-2004 01:09 PM

This may have been discussed already, but...

Am I the only Metallica fan that actually liked St. Anger?

Okay... Here's my list of albums... best to worst (not that they really have a bad album).....

1. Ride the Lightning
2. Master of Puppets
3. ... And Justice For All
4. Kill 'Em All
5. The Black Album
6. St. Anger
7. Load
8. Re-Load

This list does not include live recordings.

Feel free to voice your thoughts.

Metallica sucks dick. Their horrible excuse for a band

Wow an example of a bad post. Quit littering our boards with thoughtless, pointless messages jack***. I would be fine with an anti-metallica post if it was backed up with a decent eplanation but to just say an opinion that is band bashing without reason is dumb. It is almost as bad as when the noobs make "Doesn't rap suck threads".
