Surf: I only use putfile to put up unfinished works, otherwise i got a myspace page that I barely log into
Ugh myspace. Facebook is enough, I couldn't handle a myspace page as well. I wouldn't get any work done.

FA 03-26-2007 10:01 PM

lol i only go on myspace when i recieve an email telling me somethin about new friend requests or some shi
Wow, Haven't seen you around for a while Caleb.
Still trucking, man. How've you been? Glad to see some familiar faces. Still doing the LC's?

Nowadays, I just work on my novel which is getting to the halfway point, and trying to get established in the publishing world. And my computer was ****ed for the last couple months while I was in Texas. I'll pop in every once in awhile. Who're the promising new writers in the forums? The general standard has improved, I hope?

Hey Surf, glad to see you still here. . False Advertising, Tojes. Hey, JuggerKnot, I'm not sure who you are but I think it's cos of a name change.

Write on, sweet chariots.

FA 03-27-2007 01:07 AM

What's your novel about? I'd love to read the unfinished works...I'd love to get started on a novel. I wrote a 10 page paper for a class my sophomore year in High School and I'd like to maybe expand 200 or more pages on it, haha. Or maybe I want to write something with a dry-humor feel to it...I donno. I'll have to wait til summer to get started, because college is ownin' me...

I want to post some of my work but it's been like 3 months and it's all horrible. Hi ATC nice to see you back.

TheBigMachine 03-27-2007 01:10 AM

I remember you. Vaguely.
Im mitch, in case you forgot me.

FA 03-27-2007 01:13 AM

ATC if you want a proofreader and/or early fan hook me up via e-mail or AIM sometime...all my info is in my profile.

bowl of oranges 03-27-2007 04:20 PM

Not much at all, as you can see.

TojesDolan 03-27-2007 05:24 PM

I'm still writing stuff but like my ego went over the fence when I got a piece of mine published. Otherwise still running Caleb.

ATC 03-27-2007 07:33 PM

I don't have AIM, FA. I mean, I did but its been so long I can't remember the password. My MSN's viva_lacucaracha13 @ hotmail.com and my yahoo's strangerbythehour if you want to add me.

The novel's my attempt at a great American hispanic novel, the first 1/3rd set here in Vancouver in the 80s right before the Expo, the second 1/3rd in Texas and the last 1/3rd in Mexico. It's about the Canadian son of a Mexican immigrant who ends up working illegally in the US and then gets deported to Mexico to keep a family together. So far, the Canadian sections are almost done. The US ones are getting there but to actually live it, I'm headed down to Texas to work in a playground construction site sorta not legally.

Novels are a bitch to write. You get so aggravated at having to spend so much time with your characters. My recommendation is to write a random chapter in the beginning, a random chapter towards the middle and a random chapter at the end, all with different characters or the same character at different stages of his/her life. If you can make those three interesting for yourself, you'll want to join the dots, so to speak. FA, if you'd like to expand that piece, you want to write at least 30 pages before deciding one way or another. What's it about? You should send it to me sometime. My term ends next week and because I'm in Creative writing with only one other course, I've only one final and tons of time.

Congratulations on the publication, Tojes.

TojesDolan 03-27-2007 10:30 PM

Thanks Cal, it was kind of nice to get that stuff.

By the way, I'm recording some folkish music tracks in spanish in a couple weeks so you can like see if my vocals will work in your project and what not.

Hi, how's it goin. It's real late here and I should be sleepin cuz i have an exam in the morning..but..insomnia is for winners.

bowl of oranges 03-28-2007 01:59 AM

It's going good. Getting back into writing lately, which is cool.

Need to get myself doing something constructive rather than browsing forums though.

Insomnia sure is for winners, i experience it a fair amount. ha.

What's the exam on?
Still trucking, man. How've you been? Glad to see some familiar faces. Still doing the LC's?
Yeah, I still enter the LC; trying to keep it alive I suppose. Most of regulars don't enter or rarely enter nowadays.

I'm in my second year in a Writing course too. I'm currently writing a 3000 word short story that will hopefully be published by the end of the year for one of my assignments.

Surf 03-28-2007 06:59 AM

I still try and enter, but I always try to write something new for it and sometimes (like this time) the juices aren't flowing.

Still got a vote though. :)

And in a similar, I'm in the first year of an English Lit degree; creative writing is next year hopefully.

RunAmokRampant 03-28-2007 07:18 AM

I'm majoring in Lit. Almost finishing up on Romanticism, currently discussing Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. Not a bad book.

Ahh, simple college algebra/intro to trig stuff...I think I did well on it, other than one problem i had absolutely no idea how to do. It sucks though, cuz there are only 8 questions on the test and each worth like 20 or so points. So basically, it hurts my neck.

I took Maths as A-level over here, it was incredibly hard compared to anything else i took, my attendance wasn't great though, so that probably contributed to me finding it tough.

All you guys seem to be taking some sort of English/writing course, i never did anything past what was compulsory, i feel like i'm missing out!

FA 03-28-2007 12:59 PM

you are mate!
