I knew it :p
But I still wanted to make sure you knew I really was in pain :upset:
Of course. You feeling better now, though? |
I'm gonna put Aenima on and go to sleep so I'll catch you cats on the flipside lata.
Ha, that's what I was planning on doing in a few hours. |
Of course. You feeling better now, though?
Much. I still don't have the full range of motion in my neck, but I can at least drive, and look around relatively normally  |
Agreed.
The great thing about it, though, is that it's a very dark song, but not overly so, and it isn't a burden to listen to. It's dark through the whole thing, yet it's not melodramatic and stays varied and interesting. How they did that with a 13 minute song, mixing so many different mood shifts and the building/release of tension is incredible.
Yeah, there are some very dark parts. But I love how its basically an emotional roller coaster basically. Like around 7:00, the softer part, it feels so... slow and heavy that it feels like there's an "itching" for that climax to come. And when it does get heavy again, its like an "eargasm". I love it. I would say it's just as good as listening to the end part of Lateralus with really good headphones on and listening to those bass slides over the guitar and the... It's just great I think. Same thing with "The Grudge", around 3:45, with the drums. I love Tool :D |

Third Eye is not a song, it is a journey.
That is all  |

I love Tool :D
The second Maynard yells "let go" for the last time and Danny starts doing his thing, I have a joygasm. Stuff like that makes Tool so great. Edit: ^^ in The Grudge |
I think we all know what song that came from ;)
|
We better know what song!
And you're right, Third Eye IS a journey. |
I think anyone could make a reference like that to a Tool song, and we'd all know what it was anyway.
We're just that cool* *Obsessed :p |
Neither do I.
We're Tooloholics anonymous. We love Tool. This is not a problem :p |
Yeah, I'm happy to admit to my obsession with this band. :D
Is the neck good enough for some 4 string bassige the joz? |
Yeah, I'm happy to admit to my obsession with this band. :D
Is the neck good enough for some 4 string bassige the joz?
My neck is fine... I can't do any bass till...Saturday. I have a cello recital AND a paper to work for, both on Friday... :( |
Eh its all good... I can wait tell Saturday for some Grudge action.
Good luck with that paper though. :chug: |

Everyone's best guess is sometime this year. We don't know any more than that. |
They bedda hurry up with the album...
IMO Jimmy is really dark and haunting...with the subject matter and everything... |
Third Eye is not a song, it is a journey.
That is all
A long journey that gives me the chills. :naughty: |
i just bought the phatest TOoL shirt. It has a red heart on the front with the labeled aeorta and what not, and the "TOoL" logo is all crazy.
I bought it from hot topic though :-( |
i just bought the greatest looking Tool shirt. It has a red heart on the front with the labeled aeorta and other features
Fix'd for bad use of laguage (NEVER use p h a t again please :thumb: ) All my good tool shirts are risking being over worn and their colours are draining in the wash too much. So they're going out of commission soon. I wear a lot of shirts in the week. Time to buy more. |
I think I will do some Tool today, I'm not sure.
Keep refreshing the thread :naughty: |
My Tool shirt has holes in it and i dont know why :( and this is like the only tool shirt i have ever found in a shop.

Time to buy more.
well lets see i have 1,2,3,4,5 shirts now. I lost one from a concert in baltimore i paid 40 bucks for. Pissed me the fuk off really. I understand the "overworn" problem with TOoL, which normally would piss me off, but as long as its not the ænema shirt, I will make exceptions. I take extreme care of all of them, and i only wear maybe 1 or 2 a week. I also have 2 APC shirts i throw in the mix on off days hehehe. They only let me wear t-shirts to work on Friday, so now i got something bad arse to show off :thumb: I never saw the shirt before, so i had to snap. I love the fact i fit in a medium |
I don't really have an addiction to Tool, but they happen to be in my cd player alot and it can be really satisfying.

i went through 3 copies of ænema and im on my 4th. Thankfully i invested in 20 gig mp3 player, so i no longer have to worry about it |
Meh i don't really wear band shirts, or rockish clothes atall. Might get the classic tool shirt one day theback one with the black writing on white background. I can't say im addicted to tool, they are probs my favourite band. But i just roam around lots of different music, at the moment all i seem to listen to is Bjork and Nin...(and some akon :() But tool's albums are just ones where i'll be sitting there thinking what shall i listen to? then will just go with tool because its good. Can't really say i listen to lateralus 4 times a day or anything : \ ...blashphemous :(
|
Im past my tool prime for the moment. Discovering bands such as Opeth, Mogwai and Mastadon has sapped my listening attentions elsewhere. In fact, it's been ages since I listened to a tool album on its own.
But that doesnt stop them from being my favourite and most influential band. |

IE, I don't listen to Tool as much when I drive, cause of stuff like Dream Theater, Unearth, Soilwork, etc. But Tool is ultimately my #1 band, and nothing will change that, unless their new album blows. |
i never listen to the whole albums any more. Usually its like 1 track from Opiate, 2 from Undertow, 2 from ænema, and like 2 or 3 from lateralus
