so i heard dave mustaine was a christian??? but he is still touring with megadeth? i don't understand
Those things are totally unrelated. What's not to get? And use single punctuation.

Britton 10-23-2005 01:00 AM

How are they not related?

Christians are disciples of God and Mustaine's group
doesn't seem to be very Godly

drummer247 10-23-2005 01:17 AM

man you can still be godly and play hard music like that its your aditude it your way of life i think god listins to megadeth man he likes dave daves defily getting up there with god and cernal sanders

.:Thrashman:. 10-23-2005 01:21 AM
Pop is the rox. \m/

Megadeth were hardly thrash when he left too.

You gotta learn to type man... and metalmilitia101 and thrashman, I wish you'd change your names because I get you confused with metal-militia and ThrashMaster27 from the thrash thread.
yeah im going to ask admins if i can change my name to .:Thrasher:.
(nice spotting)

Britton 10-23-2005 01:22 AM

And shouting Fuck yeah!?

Of course you can play hard music and have God still love
you...but I'm not sure that Dave loves God back...I could be badly
mistaken though. People change and I'm sure Mustaine has changed alot
over the years. I hope it's true

MAthiAS 10-23-2005 02:02 PM

It is true now stop being a closed minded 12 year old.

Jev 10-23-2005 03:13 PM

Dave doesn't play Good Mourning/Black Friday amongst other songs live anymore because of his Christianity. He also refused to play because a black metal band was on the same bill as megadeth once. I forget how it was resolved.

metalmilitia101 10-23-2005 07:37 PM

and finally my question is answered lol.

btw...of COURSE you can be the best christian ever and still play badass hard music.

Britton 10-23-2005 08:31 PM

I never said you couldn't. I'm glad to hear that the man who makes
the most baddass music on the planet is Christian.

Sorry about my twelve year old closed mind offending you.

.:Thrashman:. 10-25-2005 02:04 AM

yea so hes Christian
thats good to no
anyway im a big megadeth fan just havent been updated on the news for a long time(long). and i went to there site and found out that David Ellefson went :(

Apocalyptic Raids 10-25-2005 03:05 AM

Old news.

.:Thrashman:. 10-25-2005 03:09 AM
Old news.
well yea i said i havent been updated. anyway why did he leave

Apocalyptic Raids 10-25-2005 03:44 AM

I was actually taling about Dave being a christian, but I gues the comment still applies.

He didn't want to come back when Mustaine originally asked, and then earlier this year he tried to sue Mustaine for $20 million, so I can't see him being in Megadeth again. I think it will be a long time before Mustaine forgives him.

Jev 10-25-2005 05:22 AM

Does Dave even have $20 million?

fatbandit 10-25-2005 06:21 AM

So I got told Ellefson is now in Soulfly

If that's true, I'm SO going to see them when they come to Sheffield (which is soon). I wouldn't otherwise. I'm not a huge Soulfly fan, but I like Ellefson. Might get to meet him

:smash:

Apocalyptic Raids 10-25-2005 06:33 AM

I doubt Mustaine would have 20 million.

Also, Ellefson isn't in Soulfly anymore.

wat 1 day he decided to leave and sue mustain?
(did he originally leave then came back ?)

Apocalyptic Raids 10-25-2005 06:44 AM

No.

After the band broke-up due to Dave's injury, they all went their separate ways. Then when Dave reformed the band, he asked all the members from the Rust In Peace line-up to rejoin for The System Has Failed. They all refused, although Nick Menza was originally going to tour with them, but he was injured.

Then sometime this year, Ellefson tried to sue Dave.

.:Thrashman:. 10-25-2005 06:53 AM

because he was forcing them
man ellefson shouldent be so greedy

superdigg 10-25-2005 07:14 AM

dave doesn't have 20 million? i thought that, in Some Kind of Monster, it said that 'deth sold 19 million albums. surely 19 million albums < 20 million bucks?

also, aw, why did the RiP guys decline? probably could have made TSHF better.

Jev 10-25-2005 07:26 AM

19 million albums doesn't mean he has $20 million, it has to be split amongst the guys, spent on band expenses ect. And don't forget only a small percentage of the record sale actually goes to the band. I'd be suprised if Dave had $2 million.

"Mustaine's suit, which seeks damages to be determined, was filed in response to Ellefson's original action, filed July 12 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, which alleges that co-founding guitarist David Mustaine breached their long-running partnership agreement. He claims Mustaine wrongfully took the lion's share of the band's gross income (estimated at more than $200 million since 1984) for himself and cut Ellefson out of the band's music publishing and merchandise revenues "

Dave is loaded.

fatbandit 10-25-2005 10:51 AM

Dudes, you know you get money from record deals too? ;)

Robbie Williams recently got signed in England for £80m. That's a huge contract, but if 'Deth got even a fraction of that for like a 6 album deal, they'd be loaded. Plus merchandise, music sales and the money Dave probably makes on like... Gigantour.

:smash:

Jev 10-25-2005 10:55 AM

Hmm I guess so. Can't somebody post it on the Megadeth forums?
"Dave how much money do you have?"

lightningmetal666 10-25-2005 11:57 AM

Dave: Well, let's just say I can have any girl I want. ;)

Britton 10-25-2005 02:26 PM

And that's all you need
