I uploaded almost all of my music to my I-Pod Mini today (except Seven Churches and a few other CDs I wasn't sure to upload) and to my suprise :
I still have like 3GB left...I love this little baby :D
Bah! I want an I-Pod! I'm stuck with a crappy MP3 Player....virtually now an Obsolete item. When I find $400 (Or however much they are!) lying around I'll be sure to buy one. NP: Fear Factory - Self Bias Resistor |
Overkill = Ownage. Got I hear black the other day, so i only need to get The Killing Kind and Taking Over. The Years Of Decay is their best album, if i had to choose one. Although i think they arent so much a highlights band as they are a **** solid band.
Metal Church = AWesome. Not quite as good as Overkill, but top 10 material nevertheless. And i dont know why people call them soley a 'Thrash' band, as they really arent just thrash. Kind of HEAVY Trad band, mixed with some power/thrash. But who cares. They own. TM... you NEED an ipod Now! They own the royal own. NP: Australia vs Pakistan with a bit of Overkill - elimination playing for good measure. |
I shall buy a Metal Church cd soon then.
|
Nuclear Assualt was another one of those solid Thrash bands in that era as well
|
Ah yes, Nuclear Assault were great. \m/
NP: Heathen - Hypnotized (Damn this song kicks ass) |
ive always loved thrash like Slayer, Dark Angel, Metallica, Venom, etc..but i also love punk...so naturally crossover appealed to me even more...if ye got slsk, i got plenty crossover stuff... :thumb:
Whats ya soulseek?
Me - "Sorry, you've mistaken me for a homosexual."
my HMV isn't that bad but its not as good as Virgin. What did suprise me was my HMV having a copy of Seven Churches when the metal section is usually full of Slipknot and other ****
****, seven churches, did you buy it? HMV does suprise me sometimes, last time i was there they had Beneath The Remains, Schizophrenia and Arise.
NP: Australia vs Pakistan with a bit of Overkill - elimination playing for good measure.
love that cricket :D ..man that took ages |
****, seven churches, did you buy it? HMV does suprise me sometimes, last time i was there they had Beneath The Remains, Schizophrenia and Arise.
Well my HMV always has Sepultura stuff. I didn't get Seven Churches becuase i stuck it on my Christmas list but didn't get it. I'm going to have to write up a new list of things i want to buy now. :) |
there are so very very many cds i wanna buy, although now after xmas i should have enough money to buy some of them. :D
|
yeah i got over £100 for Christmas :D
Violence, I see Another Lesson In Violence is your new favourite, and something i got as a presnt too. It's good but i wish they had put Metal Command on there as well. ThrashMaster i got Overkills Wrecking Everything live CD and its great, but my only complaint is that they play nothing off Horrorscope :( |
yeah, it rules, it would have been good to have metal command on there, since it would then be the whole bonded.. album, but it still slays. Have you listened to baloff's banter between songs? Its hilarious.
|
No not yet, just skipped to favourite songs so far, I'll have to check that out :thumb:
^^ *jealous*, I wish there were more independent music shops where I live but they all got bought out by fucking HMV and MVC where McFly are considered to be metal :upset:
McFly? Is that an actual name of a band or are you making fun of a band's name? I should give Overkill another chance. The Years of Decay, eh? |
No, sadly McFly are a 'band' and I say band in the most begrudging terms. Yes, I'd recommend The Years Of Decay for anyone trying to get into Overkill as it's their most standout of albums.
|
I just got 30 more dollars for chrismas. Going to get a Metal Church cd.
I could probably get another cd too. Any suggestions? |

Then work backwards in their catalog and try Years of Decay, Under the Influence, etc.
Originally Posted By ForeignPenguin What are they like?
Sabbat are a great thrash band, with one of the coolest guitar tones. They don't really sound like any other band to me. Definately worth checking out :chug: |
Whats ya soulseek?
J_Atomic, just message me, so i can add ye to my list.. |
I like the crossover stuff alot, but the only bands I can find are S.O.D and D.R.I what are someother good ones.
S.M.D. Suicidal Tendencies WarSquad Crucial Unit Municipal Waste (my acronym is their album, "Waste 'Em All") the Shit and those already mentioned, DRI and SOD, are damn good, ill post more as they pop into my head...keep on thrashing :chug: |
Speaking of modern day Thrash classics (Although nobody mentioned it)....
Anybody heard Hypnosia - Extreme Hatred? I'm not sure if they've been mentioned before, but it's a ****ing killer album. Anyway, highly recommended by me! |

I should give Overkill another chance. The Years of Decay, eh?
As you have already been informed Dargon, Mcfly are an actual 'band'. Awful, just awful :upset: . I'll leave it to your imagination so what they sound like and look like but I'll say this, If I had a gun and four bullets, Mcfly would be top priorty targets  \m/ |
I just got 30 more dollars for chrismas. Going to get a Metal Church cd.
I could probably get another cd too. Any suggestions?
Yes there suggestions.... Yes, yes indeed! Although, there are a few simple rules that need need to be followed when contemplating purchasing a Metal Church album. Rule #1 : Metal Church don't make bad music. Period. Rule #2 : Metal Church don't make bad music. Keeping these rules in mind, there are certain albums that a 'better' or 'more accessible' and those that are more varied and left field. For starters, you really can't go past their debut album. It just screams CLASSIC. Um, yeah; CLASSIC! Get this cd first. And then get every album in historically ascending order, and you wont go wrong. Um, download 'Beyond the Black' 'Metal Church' and 'Watch The Children Play' to get a rough taste of their first two albums, purchase them and then go out and get the rest. Awesome. |
My god Metal Church rules. Seriously, its about as classic Sad Wings, Paranoid and Number Of The Beast put together! The only album that comes to mind that is more classic is Melissa! WAAAAAAA!

/checks out Metal Church

Awesome.:D
And ThrashMaster... I've been thinking about your comments on Destruction sounding NWOBHMish - and they do seem to sound like it before release of agony. Probably mostly due to a thin production and the leads. Although it's still thrash: If you gave the same tunes a more beefy production, im thinking they'd sound atleast a little like exumer (although not like kreator or sodom, as they are quite different musically). Im listening to All Hell Breaks Loose atm, and the whole thing sounds pretty dame thrashy, aswell as the re-recorded Total Desaster. So Yeah, in conlusion - Yes - production wise and yes to a certain degree in song writing. I Predict a more coherant, detailed post will be added at a later date... but i really cant be fooked atm. :D |

Ah, more metal bands need to come and play shows in Jackson. Last show I went to was when Exodus played in a local club near here. Other than that, nothing but shit has been coming to my area.
On other news, I just got a new leather jacket, and it pwnz0rz. NP: Control Denied - Consumed |
^ I want a leather vest...and I want to put a "Pleasure to Kill" large patch on the back of it XD
I still have to upload more songs onto my I-Pod Mini...I'm too lazy to get up and go on over to the other room and have to fight with the computer's Import rate (although it's not slow, it takes some time). The uploading to the Mini itself is fast...that's what I love about it. I forgot to mention that the bass player for Fireball Ministry loves Destruction...I was looking at some pics of her and she had a Destruction patch on her demin vest...I was like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoa...did I do that? Holy crap... /hyper |
