for real man there really isnt any 'social group' that doesnt drink at least on the weekends/at parties. parties i go to have drastically different types of people depending on whose it is.

I'm generalizing. Most the people that hang out at parties and get drunk every day I don't want to associate with. I'm not saying I won't drink once in a while, but if you've seen the effects of alcohol on one of your parents, it may turn you off to the whole thing.

i think children of alcoholics run a greater risk of becoming alcoholics themselves, so statistically it wouldn't turn you off to the whole thing.

yeah, addiction is weird like that, it kinda only highlights its own favorable aspects sometimes. but i see what you mean, and whenever someone sees it that way, more power to them.

I only really enjoy going to parties when theres a large portion of my really good friends there.

Which is why I've hated going to parties at uni, I just sit in the corner with some genuinely chill people, get too drunk then shoot my mouth off and want to fight the usual bro morons.
