I know how long you've been playing doesn't represent your talent level. But how long have you guys been playing bass for?

I'm nearly reaching the 3 year mark.

I think I'm a little over two. I think I got my bass late September 2004.
But for a while I was only playing pop-punk, and that doesn't count. So really I haven't been playing that long.

I got my first bass on June 12, 2002.

A little over 4 years here.

Options > Properties > Recording > Okay.

Cool man, thanks. Probably saved me 10 minutes of searching.

As of your soldering problems, try TalkBass.

They know what they're doing over there.

Almost five years, but not that serious. I'll get serious for a while and get decent, then I loose interest or I don't have time and I'll get crappy again. Right now I don't play much because guitar is taking up all of my time.

Garr, this class is ridiculous. I'm sitting here waiting for my program to get marked. I'm completely done and can leave once the TA takes a look at it, but she's not even in the room.

Someone's getting a terrible report rating.

That sucks, report her to your prof. What class?

I won't say that those first few years of bass playing didn't help me get where I am, because they did, but I was mostly just learning songs here and there and jamming out punk songs with a friend of mine.

It's the last two years that I've really improved my playing, though.

Computing 120
Entry level computer programming. I was forced to due to the program I'm in.

She's making us do the evaluation form for her teaching. So she has to be out of the room. Thing is that she hasn't come back.

She's already got a bad grade by me and 3 other people.

I used to know a bit of programming, made a cool little thing in gr 10 programming class (got 110% on it). I hated the teacher so I quite taking it. I want to learn some more web design. I wouldn't mind switching to graphic and web design next year, but that would require switching schools and what not.

Web design seems like a fairly easy job.

As long as you know what you're doing and have some level of creativity. You can get paid for easy work.

Ya, I know basic HTML, but beyond that I don't know much. I also have a lot of creativity. I also do a little bit of graphic design for my church, they don't pay me, but I don't care it is easy and fun.

That can be used in a portfolio if you wish to transfer schools.
I'm still not sure what really floats my boat.

101 courses for me.

What do you do in a critical thinking course?

It doesn't seem like there's enough to do in there that could fill up a whole course without being awfully repetitive.

Think harder.

Each class is full of students pondering about thinking.

YAY, got my assignment marked. I'm going home.

Well we first covered basic stuff like what is a statement, then we moved on to argument types and forms. Then we did diagraming arguments. Not sure what we are moving onto next.

What's your price range? A couple hundred dollars can make a huge difference on what's available to you.

I assume you meant Warwick.. but it's really up to what bass and what you like.

For example, a neck through Warwick Thumb will be miles ahead an entry-level Ibanez.

There's no way he wrote that, you'd need to have spent years studying theory to write it.

Ask them which of the following wires I would use for a kill switch.

and include this link of my current wiring setup

The Brad 11-09-2006 06:42 PM

Are you just looking for pieces that people can walk up to and know their importance or about pieces that have a more subtle importance?
Kind of both. I don't know how I need to wire it using that current diagram.
1. Get a SPDT on/off switch with 3 lugs on it. All you have to do is make sure that you use the middle lug for one wire and any outside lug for the other. YOU MUST USE THE MIDDLE LUG FOR IT TO WORK.

2. Solder one wire to the ground and the other to the hot wire, so when you flick the switch you effectively join the ground and hot wire sliencing your bass!!
