I need not to go into deeper detail since its my own business and I think you get the point.

when I first joined several months ago, i was kind of stupid---just uneducated, really. that might be a large part of it.

Speaking of change, anyone else experiencing musical change? I've been listening to a lot more different bands then just thrash and metal, and even some more slower and softer stuff too.

I've also been eager to look into more Death Metal if anyone has any suggestions.

It's difficult to experience musical change when you listen to a lot of different music anyway :) I have been getting into jazz recently (meaning the last four months or so) though.

As for death metal, xizoesira's suggestions are a good start. I'd have to punt Carcass into view though, as they're just an almost ubiquitous death metal band.

Well I only actually own four jazz albums (three by Miles Davis, and one by Roland Kirk), but I really like Chick Corea, Stan Getz and to a lesser extent John Coltrane and a few others. I'm still mostly new to it, though.
