RCA 03-23-2005 09:33 AM

That means that we'll be seeing more of them in the future, I hope.

DisposableHeroes 03-23-2005 09:36 AM

I hope so too, as long as they dont break up :p

I talk with the singer on MSN :D
Too much Gothenburg influences wich makes most of the album a throw away. Why can't they be like Destruction or Exodus and play some full aggressive thrash? Because they are lame, but whatever. There is a few good songs on it, I enjoyed the title track, Murder Fantasies, and World Anarchy, but in World Anarchy they kind of **** on the song with that mellow part at the end. It makes me wonder what the hell they were thinking
I like the mellow parts on the cd. Its not what you expect from thrash, thats why I like it so much.

LordDargon 03-23-2005 03:21 PM

Ok, so, Mortal Sin - Mayhemic Destruction isn't bad, but it's a bit less extreme than I was looking for. For some reason I expected it to be brutal ripping thrash.

Wargasm are excellent. Top-notch riffwriting.

Now, whoever doesn't have Sacrifice - Torment in Fire.
GET IT! X 10 000
It's like... extreme speed metal. Fuck yes, indeed. I can't believe I delayed getting it for so long.
I just read that it cost them $500 to record, and two days elapsed between recording and the finished, mastered copy. RAW OLDSCHOOL METAL!
EDIT2: I guess I better give Corporal credit for getting me into Sacrifice.

NP: Overkill - Birth of Tension
The chorus part in this song is awesome.

Now, here's the question: Are Living Death any good, and if so, what are they like and what's the best album?

ForiegnPenguin 03-23-2005 03:31 PM

I liked Enemy of God, my favorite song is Dying Race Apocalypse.

LordDargon 03-23-2005 03:32 PM
I liked Enemy of God, my favorite song is Dying Race Apocalypse.
Funny you should mention it... that song is my guilty pleasure :p

I've downloaded a couple of acrifice albums and i think they are good.

Wargasm have the best demo name ever - Satan Stole My Lunch Money :p

Corporal Compendia 03-23-2005 05:21 PM

Torment In Fire is a definite winner... just like Fred's Slacks.

Feel! My! Homicidal Breath!

RCA 03-23-2005 05:43 PM

Soldiers of Misfortune is another great Sacrifice album.

SLATANIC-666 03-23-2005 05:59 PM

Dargon: I think that guy called Bonzo in the guitarists group C thread may deserve a visit from the DtP crew, I already called him an 'Ignorant prick' but I'll probably take a whole load of flak over that. I believe his words were to the effect of 'Megadeth or some other stupid metal band'. I hope he gets fucked in the ass with a razor dildo :p

NP: Death Angel - L.P.F.S

RCA 03-23-2005 06:07 PM

Razor dildo, nice touch man.

SLATANIC-666 03-23-2005 06:16 PM
Razor dildo, nice touch man.
It's from that Buzzed Bunny flash movie I think :D

The guy just really pissed me off with his comment, I don't listen to classic rock and this guy doesn't listen to metal but at least I'm open minded enough to even own classic rock albums :amaze: He called Megadeth stupid, it touched a nerve

That's the only real thrash relation to this pointless rant.

NP: Exodus - War is my Sheperd

I was never really into this album when I first got it but now I'm really into it  Must be the spring air :p

whatduffhuck7 03-23-2005 06:17 PM

any body else love the cd The Antichrist by Destruction? i just got it from somebody and i love it! i need to get more of there stuff

ForiegnPenguin 03-23-2005 06:35 PM
Funny you should mention it... that song is my guilty pleasure
There is just something I love about that song.

To whatdufuk.. I love that album but I like AHBL better.

Freezing Moon 03-23-2005 11:16 PM

I've been wanting to hear Destruction, I'm going to try to download some tonight.

NP: Exodus - No Love

RetiredAt21 03-23-2005 11:35 PM

I've been meaning to check out Exodus for awhile now. Any recommendations on where to start?

Freezing Moon 03-23-2005 11:36 PM

Get Bonded By Blood, and Tempo of the Damned.

Probably get BbB first.

RetiredAt21 03-23-2005 11:39 PM

Alright thanks. I'll definitely check them out.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-23-2005 11:42 PM

If you like those, get Pleasures Of The Flesh and Fabulous Disaster.

EDIT: 500th post! Took me a while

LordDargon 03-24-2005 06:17 AM

The only Destruction I have is Eternal Devastation.

SLATANIC: I think that guy's post got deleted, becuase I didn't see it in the thread.
PS: Everyone vote for Schuldiner in there.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-24-2005 06:30 AM

I only have 2 Destruction songs, sadly.

ThrashMaster27 03-24-2005 06:34 AM

I'd upload some Destruction albums on Yousendit, but it takes far too long. If anyone wants a single song, I'd be happy to do that though. IF it's on my Hard Drive.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-24-2005 06:50 AM

I will probably pick up the Antichrist sometime.

Stevie 03-24-2005 06:52 AM

DOes anyone here find that after listening to thrash Metallica's thrash is just mediocre?

ThrashMaster27 03-24-2005 06:55 AM
DOes anyone here find that after listening to thrash Metallica's thrash is just mediocre?
Sure, but I still enjoy their first 4 albums. They're still good Metal.

ThrashMaster27 03-24-2005 07:10 AM

Ok, for anyone that's not heard Hobbs Angel of Death, here's Brotherhood from their self titled album. Enjoy.

Hobbs Angel of Death - Brotherhood

Apocalyptic Raids 03-24-2005 07:11 AM

Yeah, it does pale in comparison, they do have a handful of kick arse songs but.

And they got me into thrash in the first place.

EDIT: Hobbs' Angel of Death arent that bad, total slayer/sodom worship, but overall its kinda average.

Stevie 03-24-2005 07:18 AM

What I wonder is, was Metallica particularly popular in the thrash scene in the 80s above others?

Deathcrush 03-24-2005 07:19 AM
DOes anyone here find that after listening to thrash Metallica's thrash is just mediocre?
Hail!

Yes, and they are too be honest. :)

Apocalyptic Raids 03-24-2005 07:20 AM

Yeah, they were probably the biggest thrash bannd around, i think Master Of Puppets was the first thrash album to sell over 500 000 copies.

LordDargon 03-24-2005 07:23 AM
DOes anyone here find that after listening to thrash Metallica's thrash is just mediocre?
Obviously. The only songs I can stand by them anymore are Hit the Lights and Metal Militia.

ThrashMaster: You rock. I'll grab that song later.

Stevie 03-24-2005 07:25 AM
Hail!

Yes, and they are too be honest. :)
Hail! According to an interview with Quorthorn, at the time Metallica were accused for selling out with Ride the Lightning!

ThrashMaster27 03-24-2005 08:00 AM

Many people have said it was Daves influence on Metallica that made them Thrash. He contributes on The Four Horsemen, Metal Militia, Phantom Lord, Jump In The Fire, Ride The Lightning and The Call of Ktulu. Aside from the last one on the list, most of the songs seem to be very Thrash orientated, especially Metal Militia. It may be a coincidence, but who knows.

Chu 03-24-2005 10:22 AM

Hey, I'm wondering if they are any Irish thrash bands?
Don't ask why I'm just in a mood for Irish bands at the moment :p

P.S. I don't even know why

Shred Danson 03-24-2005 10:31 AM

Irish thrash..now THAT would be awesome.

RCA 03-24-2005 10:43 AM

I really enjoy Kill Em' All. That's about it for 'Lica.

Dargon, am I logged onto Soulseek? If so, download that Horde of Torment album from me. It's quite the headbanger.

NP: Nokturnal Mortum - Night Before The Fight

EDIT: For that Exodus recommendation, get Fabulous Disaster or the 1986 Pleasures of The Flesh demo w/ Baloff on it, after you purchase and listen to Bonded By Blood. Don't go straight into Exodus' new album.

Shred Danson 03-24-2005 11:01 AM

Yeah, getting into Exodus by listening to their newer album isn't the way to go.

NP: Testament-Low

RCA 03-24-2005 11:45 AM

Look how crappy Sodom's lyrics used to be:
I turn the cross upside down
and read Satanic Bible with ****ing grown
my life begins at midnight twelve
masturbate to kill myself

LordDargon 03-24-2005 12:17 PM

A curse be on all who don't like Blasphemer! That is one of my favourite Sodom songs!

BLASPHEMAH! BLASPHEMAH!

I'll check out Horde of Torment. Who likes Order From Chaos?

RCA 03-24-2005 01:17 PM

I didn't say I didn't like it, as it IS my favorite Sodom song. :p

Haven't heard Order From Chaos.
