is currently learning bodom after midnight :p

what are you people learning?
Sweet. :) I love Jacksons. I don't think any other brand could've given me a better buy than my DKMG.

I haven't played CoB in a while. Lately I've been trying to learn Behemoth - Sculpting the Throne ov Seth. It's pretty gratifying.

metalhead_matt 10-06-2005 01:34 PM
Drop C.
jacksons are awesome, i cant wait to get it :D:D

Shattered_Future 10-06-2005 01:35 PM

I dunno, Jacksons don't really seem like a decent guitar to me...they're either ridiculously overpriced (artist signature models) or sound really bad...

I wanna see if I could put Kerry King Signature EMG pickups in my Les Paul. :p

IheartSP 10-06-2005 01:37 PM

I love Jackson. The sound and feel is good. Although, I wish I bought an Ibanez RG instead. The necks are phenominal.

Leper Affinity 10-06-2005 01:39 PM

My teacher told me the tales of his horrible, horrible Ibanez, so I doubt I'll ever get one. I played several around Guitar Center and they all seemed like a crappy instrument. Even the ones that cost the same as my Jackson looked cheap and had a mediocre sound. My guitar fits me like a glove, so I'm content.

That's the exact opposite of what I've always heard about them. You could get a cheaper Jackson and still be getting a great guitar. Artist models are overpriced, but most artist models don't interest me anyway. My friend payed a few hundred for a used DXMG and it's a really nice guitar, especially considering how little he payed for it.

metalhead_matt 10-06-2005 01:41 PM

ive got an ibanez. it owns

jkin lol

Shattered_Future 10-06-2005 01:44 PM

I love my Les Paul...fat tones all around.

Sweet distorted tone too...it goes really well with my pedals.

can you get a cob sound out of a les paul?
or do you use effects pedals?
or does your amp do the work/?

Gibson <3

My SG > Any guitar i've ever played.

The tone's kinda thick for a COB song...

I got pedals...Heavy Metal Pedal (precursor to the Metal Zone), Crybaby Wahwah, and a Flanger.

I dunno what you would consider my guitar...it's not a Gibson, but it's made in a Gibson factory by old Gibson employees. It's called a Heritage.

Got a more decent price on it too...1300 used, plays the same as a 2500 dollar normal new Gibson.

Leper Affinity 10-06-2005 01:55 PM

I love Gibsons. Les Pauls = teh pwnage

If I got another guitar, it would most likelt be an LP. You can get a metal sound out of them (see Zakk Wylde) but you'll need to set it up. Gibsons do have a thicker tone, but my friend's LP has a nice high-end tone that works great for metal. The majority of a guitar's tone depends on the pickups and the amp, so just get some active EMGs and an amp with heavy distortion and you're set.

Shattered_Future 10-06-2005 02:06 PM

Hah, I can keep the front pickup, and replace the back one with an EMG Kerry King styled humbucker... :D

Then, it will please my dad AND me...

It'll be a jazz and metal guitar in one.

MRDuCran 10-06-2005 05:45 PM

I didn't realise until now that Alexi dyes his hair blonde, thats why it was a shock to me when I saw him with all of his hair brown and a beard.

Leper Affinity 10-06-2005 05:47 PM

I think it's the other way around. His hair is naturally blonde but he's been darkening it lately. He's Scandinavian, so the light hair makes more sense.

MRDuCran 10-06-2005 06:08 PM

But you can see his roots come through sometimes, then another time it's pure blonde all the way to the tips.

Leper Affinity 10-06-2005 06:08 PM

I thought his hair, when dark, looked very blatantly colored.

MRDuCran 10-06-2005 06:15 PM

Looks freshly dyed:

I see pictures like the second one all over the place, with the roots darker. I think he does it intentionally.

MRDuCran 10-06-2005 06:31 PM

The only reason I suddenly thought it, was because I saw this:

****it i want that guitar

Shattered_Future 10-06-2005 06:33 PM

Urg...why? It's only got 1 pickup...

Leper Affinity 10-06-2005 06:34 PM

I think it looks natural here.

http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:JRr12RDUUH0J:www.edu.lahti.fi/~tniinine/alexi_laiho.jpg

Either way I don't care. I think he looks better with lighter hair. More Scandinavian.

MRDuCran 10-06-2005 06:40 PM

It won't load, but yeah there's no point going on about it, I'll just ask him.

And yeah, it does look better light.
