Hey people..and my teacher is a drummer primarily, with bass as a second instrument bassist first so its bit wierd..but them drummer/bassists are amazing slappers..usually.

im thinking that might be good for a try or two with the bass playing, never done any drugs with a bass im planning on trying it this weekend

Be sure to hold it in for as long as you can. It doesn't make you a better bass player, but you do play differently.

I never have done drugs, never will.

Don't really see a good reason to.

thats cool if you think that, but i dont do drugs that have a lasting effect or bad side effects, pain killers are excellent and almost consequentless

My teacher is just now teaching my to sight read and walk better.

I think it's beneficial becasue of me, starting at a young age, I'd have an advantage over most people who would try out for like say, the high school jazz band.

but you see i dislike jazz and i dislike walking bass, at this point i get yelled at by the band director at the school if i dont do jazz band.

yeah hes a bigot to the fine print of the word.

i like emo and hardcore , and im aware that genre doesnt have very good bass, so thats why when i start a hardcore band i put in some good bass.

But if you were to do that you'd have to wonder if the lack of bass is something that makes it what it is. If you add good bass then would it still sound like hardcore?

yes it would be , have you heard of thrice? there bassist taps in songs. im not changing the genre by changing some of the instruments.

I'm not really a fan of hardcore but at this point it's been so long since I've played with other people I'm considering joining a hardcore band my friends put together. However, they hate me for liking metal. But they say that they will use me until they can find another bassist that likes the music, which isn't gonna happen becasue I'm the only bassist in the school that doesn't just pick root notes over and over.

except there isnt much of a difference between heavy metal and hardcore. so you should be fine

The ONE thing that bugs me about hardcore is the screaming.

That is the ONE reason I can't make it all the way through a hardcore cd.

Music is fine though.
