I still wouldnt mind being in their position though :p they've made a shit load of money from it

Pastorius 08-22-2007 05:40 PM

Yeah well, it would be nice.

It's a natural progression to chill out as you get older though, I don't blame them or think they're sellouts or anything. I just think the direction they went in happened to appeal to more people.

ATTN: Kif

I need to spread repz, so I dont think anyone from MX is meeting up. I'm using my mum's mobile too, so plz dont save the number when I text you or later on, as I assume your in bed.

I wish RATM would atleast play one festival over here maybe next year.

How amazing would RATM be headlining download next year. I could die happy after that.

Jev 08-23-2007 05:13 AM

Apparently they want Muse, Foos and ACDC for Download.

Surf 08-23-2007 05:21 AM

I can't really stand the chillis anymore. They're a favourite band for people with no imagination.

K so I got the spraypaint.

The only person in the shop was the old woman behind the till. But I punched her anyway just to be on the safe side.

What I didn't realise is that spraypaint is a bitch to get off you hands and you practically have to bathe in white spirit.
Apparently they want Muse, Foos and ACDC for Download.
I'd accept that. I'd want someone like Machine Head to be like 2nd last on the bill for one of those.

Muse are amazing live and they also have a list of songs which are quite heavier than your average alt rock band.

GG on beating the old woman. Did you give her a kicking for good measure ?

Pastorius 08-23-2007 07:20 AM

It's going to be quiet quiet round here with most of you gone to Reading/Leeds.

Jev 08-23-2007 08:06 AM

Who isn't going?

Pastorius 08-23-2007 08:08 AM

I'm not! For many reasons.

Too expensive, the lineup wasn't good enough, I've got revision to do (although I didn't know this when I would have gotten my ticket), I'd rather get stoned on a couch than in a field, I'm lazy.

There is a Belgian Post-Rock festival that I'd love to go to though, maybe next year. Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai (I think), Ulrich Schnauss, all awesome.

Jev 08-23-2007 08:11 AM

I'm not going cos I'm too poor.

2muchket! 08-23-2007 08:24 AM

I want the new Devildriver album but unfortunately I just ordered a Lamb Of God Baseball tee and now I'm poor :(

Pastorius 08-23-2007 08:26 AM

I was gonna buy a Led Zep baseball shirt a few years back, then I realised I NEVER listen to Led Zeppelin. I do have a Symphony X hockey shirt somewhere though.

Pastorius 08-23-2007 08:26 AM

Looks like we'll have a few people to keep the party going, eh?

Light up the bong, crank up the song...

Dr Hooch 08-23-2007 08:28 AM

Also in the talk of chillis

I think flee lets off all his creative steam on the amrs volta albums ;)

Pastorius 08-23-2007 08:30 AM

Flea*

As a bassist I couldn't let that one slide. Does he still play for Mars Volta? I thought he just did Take The Veil on Comatorium, dunno about the others, I haven't really listened to them, didn't enjoy the tracks I heard.

2muchket! 08-23-2007 08:31 AM

I love the mars volta, but their last album bored me to tears. I thought RHCP last album was ok but nothing they do in the future will top Californication or BSSM.

Pastorius 08-23-2007 08:35 AM

It's a bad thing to do, but I find it so hard to get on with people who list their favourite band as like

"Chili Peppers, The Killers, etc"

and their favourite TV shows as

"Little Britain"

Well, just Little Britain. Comedy is one of my passions and I loathe seeing good comedians making bad comedy.

2muchket! 08-23-2007 08:42 AM

I prefer stand up comedy to actual TV series. Altho' Scrubs and The Mighty Boosh both manage to make laugh. Panel shows like Never mind the buzzcocks and mock the week are also good.

But internet wise I found a good comedy group called Derrick comedy. Their videos are quite pro and well written.

talk show host 08-23-2007 08:53 AM

Jam is one of the best comedies in a 'not sure if you should really be laughing' type of way. It's how sketch shows should be done.

Pastorius 08-23-2007 09:34 AM

Jam is brilliant, Chris Morris is just....an absolute genius.

15 Storeys High is probably my favourite sitcom, it's done by Sean Lock, only 2 series, but it's just so well done.

It's a close contender with The Office though.

TimJim 08-23-2007 09:46 AM

the office ftw.

talk show host 08-23-2007 09:57 AM

I haven't seen 15 Storeys High. I love Sean Lock though, he's pretty much the best thing about any panel show he appears on.

Pastorius 08-23-2007 10:08 AM

15 Storeys High is just.....so funny. Pretty dry.

Jev 08-23-2007 10:28 AM
What, as headliners?
yep.

2muchket! 08-23-2007 01:11 PM

Christ anyone see the news story about that 11 year old kid being gunned down ? Crazy and slightly scary stuff. He wasn't in a gang and was shot by someone on a BMX.

ChodaBoy 08-23-2007 01:31 PM

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Bring back corporal punishment, and the scum will soon learn

ASBO's are a complete and utter joke

Squirrel 08-23-2007 01:34 PM

they even compete to get them

rocknrollstar5 08-23-2007 04:37 PM

its like what Frankie Boyle said, to stop kids trying to get and being proud of ASBO's they should re-name them GAYBO's
