Woa woa just a second here Atman -
it isn't about the lowest prices, it's about the quality of the services provided

no they don't but they offer a service for a far lower price at an acceptable quality sacrifice
Those statements seem drastically contradictive. |
Once my mother was sleeping in the recliner. For some stupid reason I decided to lay down with my head under the foot rest part. The phone rang, and my mother woke up and automatically slammed it down.
And she was like, "Gee, why won't this shut?" and she did it three more times in rapid succession before she realized that her four year old child was lodged beneath it. =/ Edit: Wouldn't it be contradictory? |

Those statements seem drastically contradictive.
poorly defined perhaps (i assume too much about the people i discuss things with), not drastically contradictive outsourcing is a calculated investment that isn't just based on how much money is saved but also the quality of those services provided and the stability of the country and region in question it isn't a bunch of rich white guys in an exec board meeting going ok we can pay those indians a helluva lot less compared to an american for the same job hehe why do they pick india and not a close neighbour like bangladesh? |
The end result is an attempt to cut costs, wich would be saving money.
As stated, it's about the dollar at the end of the day, and making as much as possible. |
of course
but why india and not bangladesh? |
Laughing for shits coca?
|
I guess so, since you're a turd.
|
I guess that makes sence...
|
of course
but why india and not bangladesh?
Where ever they choose to outsource is, as you say, coming from careful calculations. There are as well, I'm sure, kick backs all over the place. Enron wasn't a unique case. They were just the ones who got caught. It wasn't about quality business, it was about making as much money possible. In the end, countless people lost. That was the result of knocking down quality, for money. They got caught, and it fell apart. Had they run a quality business, they would have not made as much. It was a risk they took, and lost. The bigger they are, the blacker stuff gets. The corperation I work for is the biggest financial company in the world, they were bankrolling Enron. They had to pay some hefty fines, and there are still pending lawsuits against them. I'm under no doubt that they are doing the same stuff with other companies as well. The world of big business is pretty ruthless. When it comes to saving money, they don't care about people, quality or such. Only about potential risks and weighing those risks against dollar savings. CountryWide recently laid off 4% of it's work force, roughly 120,000 people. That was dollars over people. |

no that's the result of knocking down ethics, not quality, for money no business should ever do that
Where ever they choose to outsource is, as you say, coming from careful calculations. Well we may differ here, but I see ethics as falling under "quality".
A 'quality' business to me, operates under ethics and under the law. (We won't comment on my employer) Unfortunately bill gates is a lil off on that one though... There was recently a vote to decide if Voting should be done digitally or not. (there are also many other technology related votes, at least here in CA) Though I understand your point. There are many who believe that laying people off in lew of using machines, automation, etc is wrong. Honestly, it's not something I've really thought about much. Point is simply, outsourcing is something done by companies, as a calculated risk, in order to reduce costs. That was in response to you saying " it isn't about the lowest prices, it's about the quality of the services provided" As you said, they make a risk calculation of acceptable sacrifice of quality for the trade off of increasing profits. At the end of the day, it's about the dollar. And how to make as much as possible. |
:thumb: Nice one!
I might be buying a 8 pc drum kit. It's a Tama, Swingstar I do believe. It's got five cymbals as well, and the guys asking three grand. It's got ebony skins, but the drums themselves a fairly old. Bargain or no bargain? |
