Those statements seem drastically contradictive.

Once my mother was sleeping in the recliner. For some stupid reason I decided to lay down with my head under the foot rest part. The phone rang, and my mother woke up and automatically slammed it down.
And she was like, "Gee, why won't this shut?" and she did it three more times in rapid succession before she realized that her four year old child was lodged beneath it.

outsourcing is a calculated investment that isn't just based on how much money is saved but also the quality of those services provided and the stability of the country and region in question

it isn't a bunch of rich white guys in an exec board meeting going ok we can pay those indians a helluva lot less compared to an american for the same job hehe

Where ever they choose to outsource is, as you say, coming from careful calculations. There are as well, I'm sure, kick backs all over the place.


Enron wasn't a unique case. They were just the ones who got caught. It wasn't about quality business, it was about making as much money possible.

In the end, countless people lost. That was the result of knocking down quality, for money. They got caught, and it fell apart.

Had they run a quality business, they would have not made as much. It was a risk they took, and lost.


The bigger they are, the blacker stuff gets. The corperation I work for is the biggest financial company in the world, they were bankrolling Enron. They had to pay some hefty fines, and there are still pending lawsuits against them.
I'm under no doubt that they are doing the same stuff with other companies as well. The world of big business is pretty ruthless.
When it comes to saving money, they don't care about people, quality or such. Only about potential risks and weighing those risks against dollar savings.


CountryWide recently laid off 4% of it's work force, roughly 120,000 people.
That was dollars over people.
