Sounds like a good day.

Weed, Clerks, jamming = good times

Illmatic 05-18-2005 07:05 PM

Only four classes?

/takes much more, but then again also goes to four-year university

lunch998 05-18-2005 07:08 PM

I think I might have dibs on the drummer poll, after all these other polls. That is if the forums aren't completely sick of them by that point.

Dancin' Man 05-18-2005 07:09 PM

Madeline- Just because I am able to make love to myself through photoshop is no reason to tell me I'm scrawny. Even if it's true.

My guess is that in the end it will be between 2 of the following.

Peart
Bonham
Grohl
Danny Carey
Ulrich

Flo Mournier, Whatsisname from Lykathea Aflame and Thomas Haake won't make it into the last 16.

MalcolmYoungRock 05-18-2005 07:10 PM

And then we can do that fantasy band shit and shut all the newbies up.

I am pretty sure Hellhammer, Frost, Lars Nedland, and Gene Hoglan wouldn't make it to that round as well, which is quite lame.

Dancin' Man 05-18-2005 07:24 PM

Hellhammer needs to win. I'll cry when he doesn't. Just like how Sean Malone won't win bassists.

lunch998 05-18-2005 07:24 PM

I would only do top 50 drummers probably. I don't think it's necessary to waste time with 100.

Dancin' Man 05-18-2005 07:26 PM

Really? I was thinking that about Keyboardists and bassists but 100 drummers would be easy.

<new user title

lunch998 05-18-2005 07:28 PM

I'm not saying we couldn't come up with a good list of 100, but it seems alittle over the top. I'm not sure about it yet though, so I'll probably end up doing 100.

Illmatic 05-18-2005 08:39 PM
Madelaine*

Ray: 3 classes, not 4. Good counting.
I'm not a math major.

EDIT: Who the heck is Sean Malone?

EDIT NUMERO DOS: Where can you see all the past Featured Artists? I'm thinking I may do one.

MalcolmYoungRock 05-18-2005 08:47 PM

In the rules thread, Sonorken made a list of all of them.

I'm thinking of going with Lunch and doing 50 or maybe 25 songwriters because you know, we're not gonna come up with 100 brilliant songwriters.

A brillaint musician that was in a death metal jazz fusion band called Cynic, and he now resides in Oregon teaching music theory at Oregon State Univeristy and is still making music in the insturmental band Gordian Knot. He also plays many other insturments including The Chapman Stick.

Very talented bassist that will never get reconized by the masses blinded by Flea of RHCP's.

100 drummers might be over-doing it. I agree with Lunch.

Death metal jazz fusion?

That's a real genre?

Was he in Atheist, too? I've only heard a few songs from Cynic and Gordian Knot, but I have heard I really like.

There is only a few bands out there like that, but that is the best way to describe them, jazz meets death metal pretty much.

And no, he was not in Atheist.

Dancin' Man 05-18-2005 09:51 PM

He is the lord on stick and a superb bassist all at the same time. Who wants a top 100 stick players thread? Warr guitarists welcome.

Two new Dream Theater songs for you people.

Also don't turn it down because it might be technical wankery, which these are not. One song does not even have a solo, and the other is a quick solo by the keyboard, and a 10 second solo by Petrucci and then back to a small keyboard bit and then it's over, not fret board wanking at all, so check it out NOW!

ArcLite 05-19-2005 12:15 AM

Bugger, guess I'll bloody have to wait till I'm back in my room, being as this piece of piss comp can't handle an RAR. Jason, you heard the Petrucci solo album "Suspended Animation"? I got it two days ago and have been playing the hell out of it, it's quite good.

BoboTheRagingHobo 05-19-2005 02:32 AM

Haven't heard it yet, I need to get that off of ya probably. I do think I have one song laying around here some where...

Lord Abortion 05-19-2005 02:52 AM

hellhammer would win the best drummers catagory if there weren't as many bloody fanboys here

Riva 05-19-2005 03:02 AM

Winner of the best drummer poll: Portnoy or Carey. Without a doubt.

But, the others will give it their all I imagine. And why not have another poll, hehe. Keep things exciting.

So, University is still running full speed for me, so I am very short on the time needed to do some of the things I want to do on MX, but bear with me, as it'll all be over soon.

I just showed my friend that video of Leeroy Jenkins playing WoW, and he reckons his played with some of those guys before, heh.

So, does anyone else find the general lack of intelligence in these forums lately sort of disturbing?
So, does anyone else find the general lack of intelligence in these forums lately sort of disturbing?
me... but what do you mean- "lately"?

And I also think portnoy would stand a good chance of winning too

BoboTheRagingHobo 05-19-2005 03:11 AM

Any one care to help me find a torrent for Ulver's new album Blood Inside?

Soulseek is down right now...and I neeeed to find this album but I have no clue of any torrent sites any more...

Lord Abortion 05-19-2005 03:15 AM

here is an exerpt from the iced earth site for all fans of PM-

"Also, after a long silence, Demons & Wizards returns with their second full-length album, titled "Touched By the Crimson King". It will be released June 27th, 2005. Once again, Hansi Kursch and Jon Schaffer joined forces to create a metal album that combines elements of Blind Guardian with elements of Iced Earth, though in the end it stands apart from either of their main bands. It will be released June 27th."

Heh, just read that yesterday. I for one am quite pumped for it as the first one was great.

Lord Abortion 05-19-2005 03:27 AM

I wonder when the IE european tour will be rescheduled?

I need to see one of my favourite bands live

superpeer 05-19-2005 03:28 AM

Personally, I could come up with a lot more favourite drummers than guitarists or Bassists. Even though I don't play drums. :-/

If anyone is left who has not seen this-you really should, incredibly funny.

Captain Jack Sparrow 05-19-2005 03:38 AM

So a friend of mine had a rather unpleasant awakening last week. My friend Troy was at a party the other night and he got into a nasty disagreement with a few other people there. The next morning when he woke up, his dog was laying in his front yard, skinned from nose to tail and long dead.

Lord Abortion 05-19-2005 03:41 AM

what about?

obviously quite nasty then...

Captain Jack Sparrow 05-19-2005 03:58 AM

I'm not sure what it was about. They were members of one of the many mexican gangs out here.

Same, just wish I could have seen them with Matt. And to Jack, that is quite disturbing...I'd load up gun and kill'em.

Riva 05-19-2005 04:12 AM

I hate it when people do violence to animals. When I saw The Butterfly Effect at the cinemas, I walked out after the scene with the dog. The movie was pretty crap when I was watching it anyway.

When I got home, I wrote a fairly brutal story about my revenge on that kid...

I don't remember much of what happened in that movie because when I saw it I was intoxicated on just about every liquid and drug that money can buy, but the bits and pieces that I do remember sucked.

Can't go right with Ashton Kutcher...worst actor ever.

He's a funny guy, and he's always the first one I laugh at when I watch That 70's Show, but playing a brainless jock is about all he's good at.

I guess I'll agree with the second part, but I find the others guys more funny. I suppose his humour just isn't my type, but don't get me wrong, he has given me some laughs on that show.

superpeer 05-19-2005 04:29 AM

I really hate that guy. Especially because my girlfriend is always saying how cute he is. To me he looks really stupid looking.
