Set Your Goals and Jawbreaker = <3, I don't really listen to much other pop punk.

NP: Lost Horizon, Jesus Christ, I haven't listened to this band since I got kicked out of Paraphilia, but goddamn they're so good.

nevertoolate 03-24-2009 12:21 AM

The Special Goodness and New Found Glory don't hurt my ears.

Dillinger Four? Descendents?

Also, I can't believe the lack of love for Propagandhi amongst metalheads

hismajestythepope 03-24-2009 12:22 AM

Dillinger Four and Propagandhi are both ****ing awesome, but I don't really listen to them on my own. I've honestly never even heard Descendents, but a lot of my friends really like them.

I didn't think so. Milo Goes to College is like...epic. Such a classic album.

*h5* You win.

Tyler 03-24-2009 12:30 AM

i have so many random no name local pop punk albums lying around my room, it's fun to spin them every now and again

and i have like four gob albums for some reason

hismajestythepope 03-24-2009 12:31 AM

Apparently it is impossible to have not heard the Descendants, because I definitely recognize the song Vince just linked me.

I wouldn't call Dillinger Four and Propagandhi pop/punk. I mean they're poppy yeah but still punk rock. Bad Religion never gets called pop/punk to my knowledge.

dillinger four are irrefutably pop punk as far as im concerned

bad religion and propagandhi are pop punk sometimes more than others

hismajestythepope 03-24-2009 12:34 AM

Last time I did shrooms me and my buddy Jake drove around Dorneyville talking about engineering and listening to Dillinger Four.

This was three months ago.

Kid moves back to PA from Mass. this week, just in time to hit up the Converge show this weekend.

D4 is commonly called Pop Punk tbh. Propagandhi was more of a side note.

BR is Punk but more due to context than style. Like The Ramones, if they played the same music they did then today it would be Pop Punk. It just happens that they played it before there was Punk to make Poppy.

couldn't have had better timing that show is going to be amazing and I'll have a brand new converge shirt to show how much of a whore I am for that band

Tyler 03-24-2009 12:37 AM

my jane doe shirt is pretty much the only band shirt i wear

actually it is

in fact it's the only shirt i wear with any sort of logo on it

hismajestythepope 03-24-2009 12:38 AM

In all honesty, I was just calling you pompous for the hell of it.

It's cool if you think I'm immature, I'm really not, I'm just very anxious at all times and just act un-serious to cover it up. :/

Yeah, that could be seen as an immature way of handling things, but it's something that I've spent the past 10 years of my life consciously trying to fix with no avail.

WHOA DUDE. The majority of my shirts are band shirts.

I think it has something to do with getting Suicidal Tendencies merch for free all the time when I was little.

I only have two ST shirts that fit me anymore. :(

I disagree. They aren't remotely pop at all.

Haha no worries I figured.

No no I wasn't calling you immature, I was just saying I think I have v high standards of maturity, being that I am older, more pompous etc :p

Seriousness has its place...but not on the interwebz. Most people on here take me way more seriously than is reasonable. =|

I would wear a ST shirt.

Album is so ****ing good.

I downloaded their new album and the genre info was Riot Grrl/Queercore.

Are they froots? It doesn't matter to me, I just never really payed attention to their lyrics.

Also, what do you guys think of Love Like... Electrocution, not that they're pop punk, just I haven't listened to them in a while and they just came on in iTunes.

nevertoolate 03-24-2009 12:45 AM

Yeah I own that little baby too. But i'd never call em Pop-Punk. I'm sure they would want that either

I'm sure they wouldn't care what you labelled them, and I get the implication that you're taking pop-punk as a scratch on their track record when really it's a compliment to their ability to write catchy as **** punk when they feel like it
