Is Wilderness any good?
|
Yeah, it is. I put a little ditty about it a page back:
Still... Wilderness - Wilderness MP3 Sample: Track 2 Arkless This is a very solid album. It sounds like the instrumentals of shoegaze/post-rock flung together with a deep voiced post-punker trying to move along as melodically as the music itself. Terrific vocals along with the pounding drums really drive the music and bring it all together. The overall result is a very tight, cohesive, and well made record. Definitely one I'm picking up on it's release (July 5).
|
Murder City Devils - In Name and Blood
Fucking Champs - IV Fugazi - Red Medicine Sleater-Kinney - All Hands on the Bad One Today I went to Niagara Falls and listened to these along the way. |

Bought many CDs today:
My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves Van Morrison - Astral Weeks, Moondance, His Band & the Street Choir Guided By Voices - Earthquake Glue I've only listened to MMJ so far though, but is fecking great. I'm blown away. A lot better than I expected it to be. |
My Morning Jacket & Drive By Truckers are 2 good bands (I'll go so far as saying they're underrated). Very solid shit they put out.
|
Astral Weeks & Moondance are probably Van's best albums. Well Astral Weeks and Hard Nose the Highway are his best, but Moondance comes very close behind.
NP: The Make Up - Born on the floor |
It Still Moves is a quality record. You should get At Dawn if you like that.
I've been in a Tom Waits-y mood today. I've listened to Rain Dogs, One From the Heart, and Bone Machine, as well as Fu Manchu - In Search Of. |

I've never checked out MMJ because they have such a horrible name. Maybe I should check them out. |
Drive By Truckers. Bleh.
I'm thinking today is going to be a Postal Service day. |

Yeah yeah, I know. At least I have it now though, right? :( I'm listening to it for the first time at the moment, and loving it so far (four tracks in). So now I'm just hoping it doesn't dip in quality later on. |
