I shall listen to it too since I am in need to expand the collection of thrash XD

I can't remember how many CDs I have left on the list that I made...

/writes note to listen to Watchtower's "Energetic Disasembly"

The other thing he says about thrash is that it's just "mostly rhythm" and since he sucks at rhythm (which I haven't gotten him to admit to yet), he thinks by trying to be a 'lead' guitarist will correct it all...

Well...he said Slower Metal is better because of the leads...well...I still think that some of the greatest lead guitarists in the world can play a steady and precise rhythm.

I'm just in search to do a soley thrash based band, not something mixed with the whole frenzy with involving melody like a lot of metalcore bands today...I want to do thrash...thrash is me...crap I better shut up before I annoy everyone XD
That's also one of my life goals, to start/be in a thrash band, I'm good friends with the frontman of a local band who had early aspirations to be thrash, they covered Raining Blood, Seasons in the Abyss, The Four Horsemen, Seek & Destroy and their demo had some great thrash riffs but they changed slightly and they started to draw inspirtation from KsE etc, and although it's still good, they're drifting further away from thrash more and more.
I am probably not yet good enough to play in a band, I can play rhythm but if I was gonna play rhythm I'd also wanna sing, but I have enough trouble just doing one :upset: . I'll either get better/good at lead or I'll learn to sing and play, then I'll try and join a band or start one, I probably won't take preference on thrash either, I'll just try and get the performing experience then I'll try and get a thrash band together :D

JMetallica 12-24-2004 02:49 AM

Merry Thrashing Christmas everyone! Hope santa comes riding in on a harley dressed in denim and leather. Anyone have any metal requests for pressents?

ThrashMaster27 12-24-2004 02:57 AM

A slab of Crown and a bottle of Jagermeister would go down a treat. That's Metal based...

metal-militia 12-24-2004 06:43 AM

Merry Christmas and happy New Year thrashers :thumb:

Yes I have metal requests for presents, sbout 50 CD's

ThrashMaster27 12-24-2004 07:08 AM

I was gonna bring this up agesss ago, but seen as thought I'm pissed I'll do it now.

Did anyone ever notice that Destruction are NOT in the same vain as Kreator, Sodom, Exumer...blah blah blah. I always thought Destruction had a more NWOBHM that was edging on Thrash with the vocals of Schmier.

ThrashMaster27 12-24-2004 07:27 AM

Sorry to double post, but it's officially Xmas in Melbourne, so every mother****er raise their Thrash horns!

Bonded By '****ing' Blood!

I know I'm not part of the clan, but I can't find any anthrax forums, so I figured I should come ask you guys. I saw an Anthrax video today, just like the last 10 seconds. But I swear I saw Scott with a seven string guitar. Does he use a 7 string? or did I make a mistake?

I listened to Darkness Descends, it's a pretty sick song. I love that intro. Anyways, I would like to join, because I love thrash metal. May I?

SLATANIC-666 12-24-2004 05:27 PM

^^ Dunno, but don't think so.

Anyways, Merry Xmas thrashers, raise hell but don't drink too much, drink a lot!! \m/

metal-militia 12-24-2004 07:30 PM

Am I the only one here who thinks Anthrax are overated?

Merry Christmas \m/

SLATANIC-666 12-25-2004 05:06 AM

^^ I think their newer stuff is not all that good but Fistful of Metal, Spreading the Disease and Among the Living are excellent. I can listen to Anthrax in small doses to satisfy my light thrash punk needs but then I just go back to listening to more extreme stuff.

RCA 12-25-2004 05:40 AM

^ Don't forget Persistence of Time.

Merry Christmas Thrashers \m/ :chug:

ThrashMaster27 12-25-2004 06:13 AM

Anthrax were perhaps a bit overrated back in the 80's, but who wasn't? I personally love most of their stuff, including most of the albums with John Bush. Scott Ian writes some ripping riffs.

metal-militia 12-25-2004 11:01 AM

yay presents! I got...

Holy Terror - Terror and Submission
Holy Terror - Mind Wars
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
Megadeth - The System has Failed
Exodus - Another Lesson in Violence
Overkill - Wrecking Everything Live

:thumb:

RavenousMetalist87 12-25-2004 01:11 PM

I got an I-Pod Mini to upload my thrash tunes to \m/>_<\m/

I have wait about 2 more hours for it to fully charge x_x

JMetallica 12-25-2004 05:40 PM

Sweet RM, its been my christmas experience that ipods rock hard. I got a 40gig Ipod :D. 2 problems i have come accross so far: 1) Not enough storage space - I'm having a heap of trouble culling my tunes. and 2) No USB 2 :( - Its taken the best part of 15 hours to upload songs to it.

Nice Haul there Metal-militia, must have been a raging day for you. :D

Hmm... I don't think Anthrax are over-rated. I enjoy all their belladonna albums as well as some bush tracks, although i havent really listen to that era in great depth.

NP: - Accept - London Leatherboys

Apocalyptic Raids 12-25-2004 06:37 PM

hehe. i also got an iPod to put my thrash tunes on :D. I got the 20gig model.

and JMet, not enough space on the 40gig?

RCA 12-25-2004 09:27 PM

I didn't get an iPod. :(

JMetallica 12-26-2004 12:55 AM

:(

You need to get an Ipod.

And yeah, not enough space on it as i have roughly 100gig of mp3s :O

:O my hard drive isnt even that big

JMetallica 12-26-2004 03:42 AM

You're needing more gigabytes then. ;-)

Feel The Darkness 12-26-2004 04:02 AM

would it be ok for me to be in Titans of Thrash but instead of regular thrash, which i still love, i use, say, an acronym for a crossover thrash album, or at least get more conversation going here on crossover thrash (i.e. DRI, Municipal Waste, Crucial Unit, Warsquad, etc...for those who dont know)
