If there's lots of people, and you're all having a good time, fancy dress can be funny, but otherwise, if you don't know many people there its not so great.
I miss my kilt. I wore it to a wedding a few years back and it was cool. Not many excuses for them in Wales though. |
I go to fancy dress parties as a Ninja.
But I got an 80's themed one coming up and I don't know who to go as. |

I could care less how you spell that word, I rarely spell it anyways. |
Come on though man, you were a whole two letters off even the right number of letters!
As a rule of thumb I let you guys get away with your terrible spelling, but my pedantic instinct just kicked in there! |

So, apparently, for leeds festival everyone is taking there own tents, no idea why, but i have a 4 man and thaught my mate was staying in it.
Now, i dunno if to buy a 2 or 3 man tent for me to take for me on my own, theres not much wrong with the 4 man, except its pretty heavy. |
just bring beer, a towel, food and some clothes :D
You'll easily be able to crash in someone elses tent. I went a few years ago (money and lineups have never been the same since... ._. I mean, Mondo Generator followed by Mark Lanegan, are you kidding!? :D:D) and I stayed in my tent for one night, just from crashing out at mates HEY GUYS ^-^ My band's singer is pissing me right off >=[ |
what's wrong with him
|
Penus Penus Penus Penus Penus Penus Penus Penus
on a serious note. Transformers movie is ****ing awesomeeeeee |
We've been recording our demo atm, and everyone's done apart from him. I asked if he wanted to come to my recording and it was "Yeah!", and I suggested he could do some of his if there was time and it became "oh, maybe, hopefully". never came.
We had a gig in leeds last tuesday, our first out of huddersfield, which we were all proper up for. Had 3 practices the week before, he came to 1, during which it turned out that he'd not actually had lyrics for a song we'd had for ages. We gave him till the 3rd practice to write them, we told him he had to have them done, we texted him the next day to see how he was getting on, I bumped into him in town to remind him, he then went out that night, having assured us it was no problem. Next day, an hour before practice, "I have hayfever real bad, I'm not coming." =/ "I'll meet up with jamie over the weekend to get them sorted for the gig" Never does. Tuesday, gig goes fantastically Wednesday, he emails me to say he's found a gig for us at our local the next wednesday (this one coming), and that he's heard I have problems with him being in the band and I should just say it. I reply to say yes, I do, but only because he seems to be putting in so little effort, and I'm not happy having a singer, let alone a front man, that's not pulling his weight. He replies to say that, among other things, he DID have hayfever real bad, that he was on the verge of not turning up to the gig, and "it all depends on how much faith we have in [him]" Later, when I challenge him on this, he says I don't ACTUALLY have hayfever but something really serious instead that he needs all these antibiotics for o.O How much faith can we have in a guy who; doesn't write lyrics that he tells us he does, never contributes to his share of the practices, breaks the guitarist's guitar and compares it to when he broke his string so he doesn't have to pay for any repairs, then secretly almost doesn't come to gigs that the rest of us work real ****ing hard to arrange and get our kit across county to? It's not like finding the gig exonerates him, it's our local and he's there every other day, and he's emailed the band myspace to say 'you need to sort out kit', so he's barely even organising it. I'd vote him out straight away, but he's the only singer we know, so I'm trying to kick him up his arse and get him into gear, but apparently I've driven him to the verge of leaving now, which, considering I've barely started, makes me think he's not worth it |
You can find other singers man, advertise for one!
Or just play your stuff instrumental and tell the audience you're looking for a singer. |

That's my opinion atm. The other guitarist agrees he's a cunt, but we're going to at least give it till monday's practice (before this next wednesday gig), where we can find out where he's at
But what gets me most, apart from the way every response is some new revelation about his reasons for missing stuff, is his contribution to practices. The only place in town is £20 for two hours, and we've ended up owing them a fair bit when we've been a bit skint. They're cool with it, but I don't like doing it, because one day they're going to want their money, and we'll have nowhere to practice. If we had a quid for every time he said "I have, like, a quid (lol!)", we'd be able to pay them off |

he's a ****ing singer thats whats wrong with him, they're all cunts really |

We've discussed looking for other singers as a band. This was without him though (obviously), and before he'd been confronted with anything on any level. Something that was suggested was splitting the vocals between us, like Mastodon do, but we've no idea how that would sound :( I love the idea of doing it, but I don't have the confidence to try :upset: |
Btw, any leeds based mxers hear anything about our gig? <_< it was at Rios last tuesday supporting Morkret (who I rhythm guitar for, and who were crap. We pwnd them)
EDIT: My band's called Human Cull. Not the best name, I know, but it's growing on me, and I really like the logo-banner thingy we've got now :) |
you got a myspace?

All you need is confidence and you can do damn near anything. |

It would seem i have had a pay rise.
My pay check last month i got paid 5.50 an hour, now im getting paid 5.66500 an hour, bit of an odd number really, but w/e more money for me, even if it will take many hours for it to add up to a decent amount. |

Singer won't practise and he's a bit stubborn and is the main reason were finding it difficult to find a drummer (me my guitarist and bassist are best mates with a good drummer but our singer apparently hates him now ¬_¬). |
