i love a well-written breakdown tbh
especially when they don't just chug the open D but actually add something to it |
lol I see. Listened to this new band called Aaron Charles, basic deathcore ****, but they have one good song called The Tragedy of Corona Del Mar.
|

See: The Primer, Bland Street Bloom. juns don't need to be mindless they just usually are |
killer juns in The Calming Effect- Conducting From The Grave
that slow chugging part before the I'LL WATCH YOU GO UP IN SMOKE |
The Acacia Strain - Brown Noise
Through The Eyes Of The Dead - Abyssal Creation (both opening breakdowns) Most crucial juns ever. Also, the breakdown at the end of Erratic Perception by TTEOTD is epic. |
I like ABACABB for the juns.
So is 3750 worth getting just for this crucial jun? |
Its very rare that you'll find a TTEOTD breakdown thats not epic.My personal favorite is the end of Autumn Tint of Gold.
|
3750 is pretty much worth it because it's got awesome melodeath parts, and it's like the first albums with what's become the standard deathcore breakdown.
|
k d/ling some folk punk right now but I'll get on that in a sec
|
3750 is worth it for Smoke Ya Later and Passing The Pencil Test, alone.
|
Honestly I thought Continent was the only Acacia Strain album worth getting and then I got The Dead Walk just for Angry Mob Justice and I realized its a pretty good album to so shows how much I know
|
Yeah Acacia Strain has always been pretty legit. They bring good juns.
|
I haven't really liked anything the Acacia Strain's done other than their first two albums.
The last two are too much brutal breakdowns, and not enough anything else idk. I've seen them like 5 times though, and they're ****ing amazing live. |
When you say first 2 do you mean 3750 and The Dead Walk? or do you mean ...and Life is Very Long and 3750?
|
...And Life Is Very Long & 3750.
I was a huge TAS fanboy until The Dead Walk came out. They went the same route as A Life Once Lost: went from somewhat original metalcore/deathcore to just BREAKDOWNS MAN YEAH BREAKDOWNS. But not even good constant breakdowns like Botch and Norma Jean... just bland juns IDK. I used to be huge into ALOL back in the day too. Open Your Mouth For The Speechless and The Fourth Plague Flies.... yummy. |
I like ABACABB for the juns.

one of my favorite breakdowns is at 00:34 into It's Torn Away by Veil of Maya. Its short, but crazy good. Tbh, 95% of SikTh breakdowns are ****ing excellence defined.
|
Also, the new Misericordiam EP is amazing. I hated them before hearing it, its like 13 minutes of brutality. The Need Not Needless has an amazing breakdown also. Sounds a bit like brutal dm-influenced deathcore.
|
So Despised Icon broke up.
|

Their past 3 albums are the **** dude. They just finished writing an album too, so there should be another good one soon. |
so despised icon broke up.
Yep, it sucks.Listening to Harvesting The Deceased, one of the bands best songs imo. |
So Despised Icon broke up.
This surprised me. Lame, cause they finally got rid of those horrible pig squeals. |
DI sux.
|
So what do you guys think of Seneca?
http://www.myspace.com/senecaband |
I got their album a little bit ago. I like it.
|
Agreed.Their full-length Reflections shows promise, I love their vocalist.
|
DI is good without the vocals. I'm going to start an intrumental deathcore band.
|

yeh
DI is good without the vocals. I'm going to start an intrumental deathcore band.
actually this. vocals just ruin it for me. |
