how big?

I've decided to not get anything bigger than 5" from now on, just because it can be finished easier, and i will be able to have more tattoos.

gaslight 08-25-2009 07:46 AM

That's some sound resource management right there. well played sir.

Sablate McNuff 08-25-2009 07:51 AM

I'm designing a logarithmic spiral that will take up the entire space of my back and the end of the spiral will lead right into my current tat. I don't want to get anything else tattood, though.

Why thank you.

My bird covers my entire back, and its actually been a nightmare trying to get it done.

I can't wait till I have more money so that I can get more tattoos.

gaslight 08-25-2009 07:59 AM

There's a couple of tattoos I might bother with one day but nothing major.

About the same size as that image is.. depending on your screen resolution.

About the size of the palm of your hand.

Nightmare? Why? It'll be totally worth it in the end.

Just not having enough money, and now that the original artist went insane-ane-ane I have to find someone else to do it. And half completed tattoo=not cool.

When it's done it will be awesome, yes, but I would rather not go through all of this again.

Nice, that's a good solid size.
What part of that body of yours?

Although I'm sure your right shoulder blade is sexier than mine, welcome to the Right Shoulder Blade Club (RSBC).

funkyhoney 08-25-2009 09:28 AM

What is it?

Efrim 08-25-2009 09:36 AM

wheeee, one of my room mates arrives in two days. fun will be had.

Joe, do you alternate which account you post from, or what?

The greek letter Phi with some badass border around it. I'm really into math and sacred geometery, and Phi represents the golden ratio. The logarithmic spiral is based off of the Fibonacci sequence, whose limit (as the ratio of sequential Fibonnaci terms approaches infinity) is Phi. Also, I want to incorporate a pictoral representation of the first 10-20 digits of Phi somewhere in the spiral. Yes, I like math that much.

My work computer is permanently logged into one account, my home computer another. I don't actually take the time to login/logout randomly.

... Nerd :smash:

I actually understand all that but it bores me to tears. To the point I feel asleep in class or skipped so often in high school I failed maths pretty catastrophically.

My tattoo hits a bit closer to home but still, if I explained every aspect and every modification I plan to do it'd take a little while.

I have been reading a book on Euler's polyhedron formula and the preceding moments and discoveries that led up to topology and graph theory.

I find that math books are a lot more fun to read than math textbooks, because they incorporate a lot of history into the text and you get to see that "the greats" still have human flaws.

There's a quick passage I'm going to find in the book and I'll post it here soon.

I can sort of agree with you on that too. I study creative writing and have some kind of experience in a few fields of writing but creative non-fiction is by far my most favourite. Facts presented in an entertaining fashion, what's better than that, I ask you? See: Bill Bryson and/or Jeremy Clarkson.
[about René Descartes]
On February 1, 1650, only months after he arrived in Sweden, he contracted pnuemonia. He refused treatment from the [Swedish queen]'s doctor, preferring to prescribe his own - a mixture of wine and tobacco that induced him to vomit the quickly gathering phlegm. His cure proved ineffective. He died on February 11, 1650.
Not funny that he died, but it does seem like an odd and mildly comical way for somebody as revered as Descartes to pass away.

Efrim 08-25-2009 02:09 PM

Lawl, sounds like something that jerk would do.

gaslight 08-25-2009 06:24 PM

Wait, which two of you are FunkMetalBass?

funkyhoney 08-25-2009 09:07 PM

Sablate and FMB.

gaslight 08-25-2009 11:12 PM

Ahh.

funkyhoney 08-25-2009 11:22 PM

Ooh.

Sablate McNuff 08-26-2009 12:00 AM

Me?

Incubus was f**king amazing.

fatbandit 08-26-2009 02:35 AM

You saw Incubus? Jealous. I saw them a couple of years ago, and they were amazing. Surprisingly good setlist, and I lovelovelove Ben Kenney after not really digging on him for ages because of that show. Wish they'd have played some more morning view stuff though. Just a Phase would have made my year.

gaslight 08-26-2009 03:11 AM

Yeah I would have loved to see Incubus back in the day but I'd still like to see them now. Great musicians.

Mr. Pickle 08-26-2009 07:44 AM

Guys. Shut the **** up for a minute.
