You sir, are a liar. Clearly your opinion holds no wait. Now play one, it is sex. |
So this is me embarking on an essay entitled 'God is Good. Discuss'.

:upset: :smash:
Aquinas? As in - if God was really good, then why does he let evil happen - sorta thing? |
lol thanks justin. have you played one?
4 of them. The guy's shop is 30 minutes away from me. There was a really large guitar show last weekend and he was there. Seriously, they are the best feeling basses I've ever played You know how Schecters are fairly cheap and feel really good for the money? These felt like that, except they were worth every penny. (Meaning they felt better than that.) It was just so smooth, and like fingerboard sex. Plus his own pick-ups are godly. He even has his own pre-amp. |
I hate the headstock on Skjolds. Other than that, they're awesome.
So I just had an awesome jam with my guitarist friend. We're gonna try to start a little band. Woo! |
hey guys.
Aquinas?
As in - if God was really good, then why does he let evil happen - sorta thing?
Because there are angels which, god has created, which became fallen angels. Those are also called devils and you know that we've been kicked out of paradise before, so we live in a 'normal' place now. With good and evil :p When you live your live good enough (and believe in god), you can get back to the paradise :p gosh. I've just made that up.. but it seems to fit in the whole picture doesn't it? |
It's called free will.

I have a sudden urge to play bass in a music class, but its too late to change my schedual.
|
But God already has it planned out.
How is that free will? God knows how everything turns out, so what's the point trying in life? But then, God knows you aren't going to try in life... He had that planned. So where's the free will? And he gave Adam and Eve free will. Yet when they had the apple, he's like "NO! BE CAST DOWN FROM THIS PARADISE YOU HEATHENS! OWNED!". That's not very kind really. Its like 'you have free will, but if you don't do what I want, I'll eat you like noobs!'... :smash: |
^^God is a weird creature then.
But I'm not really in the mood for god discussions :p |
But God already has it planned out.
How is that free will?
What religion are you basing this on? To a Calvinist, yes, your fate is predetermined. To a Catholic, you have free will. Etc, etc. |
I'm off to play songs on my guitar.
Ciao for now guys. |
God doesn't know what will happen or make us do anythng. He just helps us take the right path.
Thats what my religion teacher would say FUCK GOD |

If he did, why then do they teach us about Adam and Eve, who went against His word, but if God has everything planned out, he knew it since the beggining, thus, making no sense. Then again, Adam and Eve (just like most of the Bible) is simply metaphors, not to mention, the Bible didn't come from heaven; it was created by man. I have yet to see a giant... |
Let us stop this religious talk, nobody is going to convert anyone to their side so it'd be much better if we kept our views to ourselves.
Now if only the rest of the world would realise this it'd solve so much trouble. Anyhoo, hi everyone, 'sup? |
Tryxx want Skjold!
|
Kibuddy wants Roscoe!
*has been slammed with an intense case of Roscoe GAS* |

I love having this here acoustic to toy around on
|
Because God is Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent. He knows all. What has been, what is, and what will be.
Don't argue with that. I've tried. He is bigger than everything, and we cannot explain why He does what He does or How he knows what He knows. He just does. What will be is clearly the most important issue here. He knows what we're going to do. To the extent of planning it? I'm not sure, but I have to assume so I think. I choose to not believe in any gods anyway. So it doesn't matter. Its just for the sake of argument and wordcount++ in essays :p :smash: |
Dude, Neal, nobody's converting anyone. Its just posing theoretical questions. In my class, only one of us Christian, one is a Jew, and one is Muslim, yet we all have to discuss as if in each other's shoes :)
:smash: |
You know, I am all for opinions, and personal expressment, but religion is deafly drowned in stupidity.
Some religions expect us to believe there is a large, metaphorical old man with a big white beard ruling over everything. Then again, the time people thought this up, they also thought the Earth was flat, and the stars were "holes in the celestial sphere." They also thought mushrooms came from the light of god. It is only a matter of time before this "God" crap is completly demolished by science. If you actually KNOW and RESEARCH certain topics like death, and the metaphysics/physiology of death upon the brain, you'd think a little harder about your moronic religion. So, if you believe in any sort of big, imaginary man who created everything, you're an idiot to me. Do you people also think the Earth is 4000 years old? |
hey guys.
:smash:
I realise that, i too do Philosophy + Ethics so i'm clued up on all the arguments too. I'm also deeply non-religious/non-spiritual too. But all that happens is heated arguments build up. Besides, this is the Casual, it's for fun and games, not serious talk. Now come i want to see you all post something stupid! BOOBIES! See? |
hey guys
