Is it from MLOR tour without Roger?
I think so, I'm don't listen to post Waters stuff much, so I'm not sure but I don't think I saw any tracks from the Division Bell.

robo2448 07-30-2005 06:45 PM

Pulse is the post-division bell tour, so if it doesn't include Waters, I think it has to be the MLOR tour. I'll probably get that eventually too.

Broken Arrow 07-30-2005 06:47 PM

DSOT is post Waters.

WheepingGuitar39 07-31-2005 04:40 AM

Delicate Sound of Thunder is the live recording of the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour in 1988
Waters was not there.

Anyone see Pink Floyd at Live 8? Man, it was worth watching 12 hours of shitty wannabe bands to see them play together once more.

Oh yeah and I think that Comfertably Numb off a Delicate Sound of Thunder is the best version of it, anybody agree?
Great timing to say that, cause I just got done ripping this:

This is my second favorite version of it.

David Gilmour - Comfortably numb(Columbian Volcano Relief Concert 9.2.86)

edit: nice write up med

I can remember being sat there and just staring in amazement at the TV with a tingle going down my spine. They were awesome.

Pulse is my favorite, the sound of it is just so massive and swallows me up. The reason why I like that video is because the solo on it has an edge to it, which isnt something you see out of Gilmour normally.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 07-31-2005 04:57 PM

Great write up Med. :thumb:

I cannot put my finger on it now (no pun intended), but there is something deep inside that solo that's more than just guitar playing. It's almost as if the guitar is communicating, connecting with you, but in a language you can't understand.

PinkFloyd 07-31-2005 11:00 PM

Good write up Med, I think Dogs is one of the greatest written songs of all time. The lyrics, the music... *goes of another listen*

I know exactly what you mean. I mean the fist solo is so calm, so relaxing, peaceful, its almost like your floating. Then comes the second whitch just takes you on such a ride until that finish when he just goes nuts on guitar. Those two solos are not just two of the best solo's in music, but one of the most beautiful peices of art of all time.

Shut up, that was intended and you know it. :p

The tone on Comfortably Numb is incredible.

DeusExMachina 08-01-2005 12:11 AM

I heart comfortably numb.

Illmatic 08-01-2005 12:15 AM

I prefer the first solo in Comfortably Numb for some reason. Feels a little more epic.
I prefer the first solo in Comfortably Numb for some reason. Feels a little more epic.
I do to, it's a little more 'light'.

pigonthewing82 08-01-2005 12:33 AM

Yeah I like the first solo more too. I mean nobody but Gilmour could write a solo like that one. It just seems to be played more from the soul then the second.

Purple Floyd 08-01-2005 12:41 AM

After playing the first solo for about 6 months, I think i almost have it perfected.

It's amazing how easy something can look in tab form, yet playing it is another story. The amount of emotion involved in every little bend is amazing. Either you have to play it with your heart or not at all.

PinkFloyd 08-01-2005 12:47 AM

Agreed.

Drugstep 08-01-2005 12:49 AM

Why try to play each bend with heart? Gilmour sure as hell doesn't.

*Loses credentials with all Floyd fans*

You download the Floyd songs in the YSI thread?

Drugstep 08-01-2005 12:58 AM

It took me like two hours, but I finally got In The Flesh....started.

So after all this time, I proudly own 18% of one song.

My computer sucks.

I dont know where you can download it, I bought this with a bunch of other bootlegs on ebay a while ago. I may post some more stuff tomorrow.(Like Gilmour's appearance on SNL)

markface 08-01-2005 01:55 AM

alright, nice one

i've been learning the first solo to comfortably numb for a couple of days, it's orgasmic to play and to hear yourself playing it is out of this world
