i'm not ashamed to say i play bagpipes; most people in the MXDP community know i play bagpipes; no one has ever given me any greif about it: most people respect someone who plays a not-so-popular instrument such as bagpipes; I would assume some people think it's cool that i can play the bagpipes, besides which, I'm in a North American Champion Pipe Band, who now is playing in the highest competitive category there is. Only 15 bands in North America are in this category, so I consiter it an honor to play the bagpipes with the band I do and uphold my scottish heritage.

Bagpipes not popular? There are hundreds of bagpipe players?!?! I mean I live in a city of approximately 103,000 people and we have 3 community pipe bands and 1 police pipe band.

Because there is nothing for pickups to convert to electric current.



You can use a Piezo transducer type pickup, but thats a not really an electric bagpipe at all.
