You say UFC is brutal, but it's actually incredibly technical. Nowadays you get a great mix of Martial Arts. It's such a misunderstood sport, really gay that it's just portrayed as "two people beating the hell out of each other".

A fight will be stopped, [b]when either fighter cannot intelligently defend themselves[/b]. You are not allowed to stomp on the ground, elbow directly downwards (sideways elbows are fine), fish hook, eye gauge, really just sensible stuff. No blows to the back of the head as well.

You're not allowed to kick people in the head in football, it doesn't mean that there was abundant head kicking at one time.

fair point. it did used to be a pretty violent sport though. im really pissed off with the way footballers have turned into complete pussies nowadays. try coming to play for my local team, the captain got his leg broke on saturday and he needed the air ambulance. it was not a nice sight

Football has some nasty injuries. It used to be a lot less controlled than it is. Nowadays, whilst clearly the violence is still there, there's so much more technique involved.

Anderson Silva, the black one, has unbelievable technique. He gets the other guy (Rich Franklin, also an excellent fighter) into a Muay Thai grip, and notice how Franklin is totally at his mercy, Silva dictates his body shape, making it hard for him to do any damage or get loose.

If you can find it, I strongly recommend Ninja The Protector. When you look for the best-bad film ever, this has to be it. I've probably mentioned it here before, but its so incredibly hilarious I couldnt breath through the laughter it caused
