I've seen Atomic Ballroom Calamity tons of times. They're so good and original, not to mention funny.

There is also an interesting two-piece Mathcore band one of my friends is in that I've seen tons of times too. They sound like their songs could be off DEP's "Under the Running Board" except with heavy synth.
I can't explain how their drummer can play drums and synth and scream at the same time, but he's done it, and I've witnessed it. AMAZING.

Phil was in Shadows Fall for like one album before they got Fair.

I think how it works is that he has a certain style, as most singers do and that style comes across in whatever band they are in, at least vocally.
