Sounds like a plan, stan.
I want more of that best bitters.

I'm barbecuing again, beef this time. I also made this great salad with feta and such. Basically, Montreal has some incredibly cheap places to buy incredibly good foodstuffs.

Wanna come up tomorrow Ben? We can drink and eat and such.
Jealous. I'd love to come up, except for the whole moving stuff and packing and whatnot.

Efrim 08-24-2009 06:03 PM

Sounds stupid, come up and forget about it.

BenJammin 08-24-2009 06:12 PM

When do you turn 19?

Spaceman Spiff 08-24-2009 06:14 PM

One of these days soon I'm going to have to get my hands on some lamb. It's been way too long since I last had some.
When do you turn 19?
Sometime in the past.

My god it's a good meat. Make sure to trim the excess fat, cause a lot of chop cuts are too fatty from the outset.

Oh, excellent. I lost track of your age. This means I can take you to the wonderful pubs here that serve delicious varieties of beer.

Pluperfect_Arson 08-24-2009 09:30 PM

Ben is looking for some sex in this thread.

200 of the 300 goes into a band account and the rest is going to be spilt between the rest of us.

I never trust band accounts, who's going to be in charge of it? Better off splitting the earnings equally and leaving it up to people to pony up the money for their own concerns.
why would you sell copies just give them away dude seriously

not my advice its reznors
Don't forget, Reznor can afford to give things away. It's easy to spout off on giving music away for free and doing it for the love of it when you're sitting on top of a pile of money.

funkyhoney 08-24-2009 10:38 PM

I don't have a particular penchant for Reznor, I don't see why he's some kind of underground hero as it were.

We have a great pub here that has several dozen types of beer. They actually give you a beer menu separate from the regular wine and cocktail menu.

We have a place like that here that I don't go to often enough. The Belgian Beer Cafe.

gaslight 08-24-2009 10:49 PM

Yeah there's some things of that nature around here too.

I'm off alcohol for the foreseeable future though, it's too much of a waste of money.

funkyhoney 08-24-2009 10:50 PM

Hahaha they only have 3 Belgian beers and two of them are Stella and Chimay white... **** me. Should at least get Delirium Tremens, Chimay blue, Duvel and Leffe.

I laugh at the total lack of Australian beers  Laugh in an encouraging manner... they're all ****.

Just drink less. I'm sick of people swearing off liquor because it's a waste of money, just don't have as much, simple. Maybe all this time working with liquor has made me intolerant of such ideals; I see too many drunks and **** who just come in and get either a shitload of stuff or just enough to get maggot without going into a coma every single day. If you can't keep liquor in your house without drinking it or are cutting out necessities, THEN you have a reason to stop drinking and find help.

Holy ****, i met have just run into the girl of my dreams. English major, confident, is on the biking team, knows a bunch about bike mechanics, loves music an has heard of and is cool with the locust. its all pretty great. also, i pretended i was cool and pulled her in for kissing, which we did at great length. i may have a winner here.

funkyhoney 08-24-2009 11:04 PM

And then she saw the tentacle crab dog on your belly.

Efrim 08-24-2009 11:07 PM

again, too legit to quit, she thought it was awesome. same for my circuit tattoo, and was understanding about how unfinished my secretary bird tattoo is. I'm golden.

Having less is still a waste of money.

Here's the thing - liquor does nothing positive for me, it's just an expensive thing to drink. I'm more concerned with putting money into things that are either necessities (food, clothes, rent) or into avenues that could return the cash.

If you're looking to save money by cutting out a luxury item, which I am, liquor is the glaringly obvious choice.

But what if you become un-legit? Then you'd have to quit!

I need to get shading and stuff done... still... for mine.

NOTHING POSITIVE?! What about blotting out unwanted memories?!?!

Yeah, I know, I guess people up here are stopping drinking because it's like the "cool" thing to do, it's outrageous. If you like to have some libations every so often that's fine and I see nothing wrong with it, I think they think they're alcoholics, but I know better because I deal with them every day.

I always send most of my money into saving when I get paid so whatever's left gets allocated to house costs, clothes, food and if left over, going out and booze.

Admittedly I do still have too much booze in my cabinet. I don't drink enough to warrant the amount I buy

See?

Do you get hella good discounts on liquor?
Do you get hella good discounts on liquor?
Occasionally, I generally just know where to shop/who price matches.

Although I did figure out how to filter deleted items on my stores stock system, and when lines are deleted for any reason they sell them at less than half their cost just to get rid of them; so I do get insane discount on certain items.

I bought a bottle of McCallums scotch for $15, for example. Every now and then you can get a case of beer for about $20, I've done that a few times. The best part is they never put tickets up for reducing the price so I just buy it all.

I think the latest super stupid prices they were getting rid of near-out-of-code Dos Equis for $10 a case, and 5L kegs of Bitburger for $5.
