Word to that. Trying to think of a name for my musical outlet.
|
You mean CFHD or is this a solo project or what?
Has Ben been on here lately? I want to hear the rest of his pop songs. |
Catfight is more of a concept than a band. It forms when it's needed. I want it to become a record label. I guess solo, but we've always written separately.
|
Nice, like Megazord.
|
Heck yes.
I got distracted and am now looking at investment properties to buy in Canada. |
I dunno how well our dollar flies in Canada.
Would it be a good idea to go for investment properties in countries where our dollar slaughters the local? |
1.00 AUD=0.818847 CAD
This is what I'm looking at: http://www.remax-winnipeg.com/wps/myofficelistings/1341/ListingDetails.form?listingId=7078447&printable=true |
That'd cost heaps to get but I suppose once you start earning money on it the superiority of the Canadian dollar would become an advantage.
Are there vicious taxes on overseas property investment? |
Not a huge amount, as far as I can tell, for Canada. It's so cheap there, it's ridiculous. Like, blocks of land for $10,000 in residential areas.
|
Not bad.
Is it difficult to make sure you actually get your money seeing as you can't be over there to enforce anything? |
No different to here, realistically; just get a real-estate agent to manage it for a fee.

International business concerns, beautiful.
|
Why not. It's either that or invest in defence-housing here.
|
I think it's cool. There's nothing I'd like to have more than claim to international business ventures, I'd feel like a mad dog.
I'm just gonna see how I go with my money-making endeavours here first, I have no real money to speak of. |

Ridiculous. F*cking ridiculous. |
I know most of you guys aren't awake now but indulge me in some market research when you read this?
What would you guys pay for a poster of a band - top quality printing, A3 and A1 size, delivered to your door? |

That is a beautiful little house. $750 a month? You've got to be kidding me, that has to be per person. And even then it's a bargain. |
$22.95 and cost of poster-tube. $14.95 for subsequent posters [maximum of 3 per poster tube]. Something like that maybe?
|

Awesome :thumb:. I'm basically going to research the cost of printing on both sizes and the cost of Aus-post poster tubes and come up with the best price I can. I want to offer like, discounts if you get like 3+ posters hey. Posters are a great way for bands to raise a bit of money. Fun to make too. I should mention they'll be non-laminated but on great paper. |
So high-gloss paper? Sounds good.
You should do bundles too: T-shirt, album, poster; $60 or something. Something like that I'd pay for. |

Honestly, $40 max, but my best frined just last month bought a (really, really cool) Joy Divison poster for almost $100, so really, depends what market you're after. It basically was a 'word-spiral' showing every band who had ever played Love Will Tear Us Apart, mirror-silver background, it looked absolutely sick. |
Yeah man, that's also one of my plans. For stuff that's related you know. Pretty much exactly what you're talking about.
Also stuff like, get two of the same artist's album and save a tiny bit, discography packages etc. |
Yeah definately [gassy].

Cheers dudes, awesome feedback. I hope when my store goes up some of the posters will interest you all. There might not be many to start with but don't worry, there will be lots eventually. |

Tiger Panic box set when it's old enough to be box-setted . |
Word to box-sets. I for one am a massive whore for "extended art and linear notes" deluxe sets. The simple thing of having the artists including things like open letters to fans, or extra album art really excites me.
|
Quality over quantity, always.
|
Yeah fo shizzle. I did spend $10 extra for a 5.1 mix version of Katatonia's newest album. It was $24 for their album, or $37 for the two-disc version with an elite mix.
|
Yeah man, if you're buying a CD, you're buying more than just the songs on a piece of plastic, you're buying the art, the experience of holding it, looking at it, checking out the liner notes, booklet if present, all that jazz.
I'd like to include a badge with most of my CDs once I get a badge machine. |
