"Get it out of the metalcore thread"----Cocaine
You raise a stunning argument. Thank you for your contribution.

Invicta_Veritas 12-09-2007 06:49 PM

You're very welcome. I was following your policing example; it served well.

I never said they were good. I just asked if anyone had heard of them because I wanted to see what other people thought. Personally, I think they are nothing special.

*Gets it back in*

Me!

Tyler 12-09-2007 07:03 PM

It's not metalcore, get it out.

illpressureurhinges1 12-09-2007 07:03 PM
It's not metalcore, get it out.
What's not metalcore? Gwen Stacy?

rid 12-09-2007 07:04 PM

yea, I dont know what's going on with him.

illpressureurhinges1 12-09-2007 07:06 PM

Gwen Stacy is like the kind of metalcore that everyone complains about because it sounds too much like every other metalcore band.

Dimmu Burger 12-09-2007 07:07 PM

That's why they just got signed to Ferret.

rid 12-09-2007 07:08 PM

Well I actually WAS talking about Protest the Hero.

Metalcore or not, I'm starting to like them a lot.

illpressureurhinges1 12-09-2007 07:09 PM

Well I'm not saying they're bad or good. Im just saying they sound kinda generic. If Ferret sees something in them, then more luck to 'em!

Tyler 12-09-2007 07:09 PM
Well I actually WAS talking about Protest the Hero.

Metalcore or not, I'm starting to like them a lot.
That's who I meant. They're just Metal.

illpressureurhinges1 12-09-2007 07:11 PM
Well I actually WAS talking about Protest the Hero.

They're great, but they're more progressive, technical metal.

rid 12-09-2007 07:12 PM
That's who I meant. They're just Metal.
I know, I'm a bit retarded atm. :p

Well... it's METALcore... ?

They're great, but they're more progressive, technical metal.
I'm not saying they're metalcore.

I wouldn't either.

illpressureurhinges1 12-09-2007 07:12 PM

Whatever works for you.

Dimmu Burger 12-09-2007 07:13 PM

If a band isn't generic metalcore, than their metalcoreness will be argued.

Tyler 12-09-2007 07:14 PM
If a band isn't generic metalcore, than their metalcoreness will be argued.
No. It's just not metalcore. You can't be any more specific than Metal.

Dimmu Burger 12-09-2007 07:15 PM

If we are talking about Protest The Hero then yeah they are kinda all over the place genrewise.

rid 12-09-2007 07:17 PM

deathcore?

illpressureurhinges1 12-09-2007 07:17 PM

And they aren't really metalcore. If you want to talk about them, go to the progressive metal thread, although we already did that.

Tyler 12-09-2007 07:18 PM
deathcore?
There'll be death influences on Fortress. Mostly with Arif's low gutturals and Rody's newly acquired low-growl.

illpressureurhinges1 12-09-2007 07:19 PM

But not really on Kezia or A Calculated Use Of Sound though right?

Tyler 12-09-2007 07:21 PM
But not really on Kezia or A Calculated Use Of Sound though right?
CUOS is post-hardcore, Kezia is just Metal.
No, though.

Besides that pretty much the same sound though? Not saying it'll be bad, but I kinda like the current vocals. Bit untraditional, I guess.

illpressureurhinges1 12-09-2007 07:22 PM

Ok. So anyway... I'm sure I've asked this before, but anyone like Destroy The Runner?

Tyler 12-09-2007 07:22 PM

The vocals are all mostly still clean, they're just a lot more natural now that he isn't layering them. That's half of the single.

rid 12-09-2007 07:23 PM
But not really on Kezia or A Calculated Use Of Sound though right?
In case you're thinking about my deathcore post, that was a joke.

I might've just made myself look stupid by explaining something obvious, but I couldn't care less.

And Destroy the Runner are a bit catchy the first time you hear them, but then afterwards they suck a huge amout of a**.

Dimmu Burger 12-09-2007 07:24 PM
Ok. So anyway... I'm sure I've asked this before, but anyone like Destroy The Runner?
I just downloaded their cd (late as always), i'll have to get back to you. They seemed kinda generic in the video I saw though.

illpressureurhinges1 12-09-2007 07:25 PM

Well I've heard that from most people that they're either generic or they just suck, but I think they're great.

rid 12-09-2007 07:28 PM

Thanks for that. Sounds good!
Well I've heard that from most people that they're either generic or they just suck, but I think they're great.
I guess generic is a better way to put it. :p I don't like saying bands suck, so.
