I am in love with Paper Wings by Rise Against at the moment. Truly amazing song.

Rancid Dan 05-16-2005 02:38 PM

Yeah, i love that osng.

I also love 'Life less frightening' now.

I'm going now, so good bye !

Gnarmageddon 05-16-2005 02:39 PM

Paper Wings, Swing Life Away, and Life Less Frightening are the best songs on SSOTCC.

My friend burnt me Hot Damn! today, and I must say that it is an excellent album.

cbmartinez 05-16-2005 02:39 PM

I was listening to Rise Against this week at my church, it was the CD with "Like The Angel" on it. But all the songs up to "Like The Angel" I really liked, they were a lot more abrasive and awesome. I'm really going to look into buying one of their CDs, though it won't be very on my want list.

Awesomeness.

Rancid Dan 05-16-2005 02:41 PM

Argh, i hate swing life away.

Night
Awesomeness.
Yeah, I was listening to it on the bus and I was kind of like "Man, this sucks." because it's so effing chaotic, but I'm sitting in my room listening to it now and I'm starting to like it a lot more.

Do you know of any other bands that sound similar to them?

chumpradio 05-16-2005 02:43 PM

I don't know the singers name, but I love the rawness of his voice. Especially in the acoustic part of Paper Wings.

cbmartinez 05-16-2005 02:45 PM

Fight Paris sounds a lot like them, almost a ripoff. Also check new Norma Jean, Fear Before The March Of Flames and Botch. Possibly Nora.

It's Tim something.

And cb, thanks for the suggestions.

If sex was put into musical form, Hot Damn! would be that music. I love that cd, and I can't wait for their new one. The vocals off of the new track sound a bit different, but it's a good different, and I can tell that this new cd is gonna be killer.

brycey 05-16-2005 03:33 PM

*comes out of retirement*

How's it going?

chumpradio 05-16-2005 03:36 PM

Hey Brycey, I'm alright. MX has been getting even worse lately. :(

Where have you been?

Gnarmageddon 05-16-2005 03:38 PM

Sup Brycey. Haven't seen you around in a while.

Gnarmageddon 05-16-2005 04:26 PM

Aaaaaaaand he's gone.

cbmartinez 05-16-2005 05:16 PM

Brycey ruled.

cbmartinez 05-16-2005 05:42 PM

I just restrung my acoustic. God, this thing sounds incredible.

Gnarmageddon 05-16-2005 05:50 PM

Hopefully my parents will get me an acoustic for my birthday. I want one real bad.

Understanding In a Crash 05-16-2005 06:00 PM

Does PTW sound better on bass or guitar... hmmm. Can't figure it out. :upset:

Understanding In a Crash 05-16-2005 07:12 PM

And an hour later no one can figure out either :D

Gnarmageddon 05-16-2005 07:25 PM

I was pondering it.

cbmartinez 05-16-2005 07:43 PM

The bass lines on YCBY are sick cause he uses that sick ****ing bass overdrive (I have the Boss Bass Overdrive so I can get that tone :D) but two of my favorite songs to play on guitar are "Apathy Is A Cold Body" and "My Mirror No Longer Reflects." The ending to the latter is so incredible. "Botchla" is fun to play on both.

cbmartinez 05-16-2005 07:49 PM

Just got Star Wars tickets.

Gnarmageddon 05-16-2005 07:52 PM

I'm thinking about going with one of my friends who has presale tickets. If I decide to go, we're going to watch the first two movies at his house so I can know what's going on.

Understanding In a Crash 05-16-2005 07:58 PM

I'm seeing it tomorrow night...

Like I think some bass lines are so slick and they probably are easier to play but the guitar parts are sometimes like going ape ****!

cbmartinez 05-16-2005 08:20 PM

Yeah, the guitar stuff on YCBY is insane. That's why I was about to kill myself when Derek left. I was just playing the clean part in "Slice Paper Wrists" another incredible moment. I love that synth part in "Loved Ones" too, I can play it on the guitar.
