hey hows it going guys

fatbandit 03-13-2005 01:19 PM

Rage are overrated. I bought the S/T CD, after hearing nothing but good things about Rage. I'm all for riff based rock, but the only tracks that worked for me were Killing in the Name, Wake Up and the one with the distorted bass at the end (which I forgot which one it was... :upset:). The others were okay I suppose, and some had a lot of potential (Settle for Nothing especially), but needed just an extra little kick from somewhere to stop them becoming dull. Call me a heretic by all means :thumb:

rage was good for this reason (my opinion) they did something different than what everyone else was doing. i feel that the songs are very good and solid, they do a lot for me. i think that the song that we are talking about is settle for nothing.

Radiobass81 03-13-2005 01:23 PM

I've never liked Rage...

lemoley 03-13-2005 01:24 PM

hey paul

fatbandit 03-13-2005 01:25 PM

The song we are talking about? The one with the distorted bass at the end? No, its not that one. I could stop being lazy and go and listen. But that would ruin the credibility of my laziness...

peeted 03-13-2005 01:25 PM

i like rage because of the mixture of rap and rock, there songs have a uneque groove that iv never seen done anywere near as well.

thelowsoundofbass 03-13-2005 01:27 PM

soi how is every one doing???

lowsound

fatbandit 03-13-2005 01:27 PM

Then again, I like Korn for that reason. They did something different when they came out. It was almost revolutionary in a way. So... yeah, I like Korn. I guess I must suck then... :upset:

PaulR 03-13-2005 01:31 PM

I'm not 100% sure. Just general meh.

I guess im just on one of those downers for a while.

lemoley 03-13-2005 01:33 PM

yeah thats what being a teenager is about lol

PaulR 03-13-2005 01:34 PM

True. It sucks, sometimes, life is just so great. Like the majority of last night, but then sometimes it just gets you down for no reason.

fatbandit 03-13-2005 01:34 PM

Nah man, IMO, Issues was the best album. Korn albums go in this order:

Issues
Follow the Leader
S/T
Take a Look in the Mirror
Life is Peachy
Untouchables

that kinda sucks, i am in a great mood. i am finaly in a band and we are recording soon. school is going well and there are no females screwing with me at the moment. so life is good

lemoley 03-13-2005 01:37 PM

lol 123

fatbandit 03-13-2005 01:40 PM

Issues was slated as commercial, and that they'd sold out, but it was perfectly good music, and Make Me Bad is one of my favourite tracks by Korn, if not my favourite. I think i got suckered into Follow the Leader by Todd McFarlane's art, but that's beside the point. I saw that as far more commercial than Issues...

Here's the correct order:
S/T
Follow The Leader
Life Is Peachy
Issues
Untouchables
Take A Look In The Mirror

I have not heard all of Untouchables or any of Take A Look In The Mirror.

PaulR 03-13-2005 01:40 PM

Haha. I guess thats more annoying than depressing.

thats a better order, the best song by them has to be twist, so weird and no real lyrics.

Anyone notice that when Korn talk about their upcoming album, whenever they are recording, it is always, ALWAYS, the "heaviest stuff they've ever written."

fatbandit 03-13-2005 01:42 PM

Possibly. I know people who listened to S/T religiously for years, and have very biased opinions of Korn being sellouts and the like, but I missed the whole Korn phase when I was 13, like everyone else seemed to have. So when I was 15, I listened to it all and got realy into it, when it was cool to hate it, and that's my unbiased view of the albums, and in order of quality IMO.

lemoley 03-13-2005 01:43 PM

yeah but one thing leads to another lol

thelowsoundofbass 03-13-2005 01:45 PM
Anyone notice that when Korn talk about their upcoming album, whenever they are recording, it is always, ALWAYS, the "heaviest stuff they've ever written."
and as their albums go on, it gets less and less heavy.

lowsound

fatbandit 03-13-2005 01:46 PM

Unctouchables was a huge blip. I think they overproduce things, which can bring down the heaviness and make it too sterile.

Spaceman Spiff 03-13-2005 01:48 PM

Either way, I don't listen to Korn anymore.
My taste is music changed/grew, and I no longer listen to the band.
