The only songs on [I]Rubber Soul[/I] that could compete with [I]anything[/I] on [I]Revolver [/I]are "Norwegian Wood", "Nowhere Man", and obviously "In My Life". Other than that [I]Revolver[/I] is almost 100% superior. Hard to compete with a perfect album.

A couple Chuck Berry covers, like Roll Over Bettoven, and other blues or 60's pop songs. I think he only does one or two Stones songs, but I forgot what they were I don't have the cd with me.

I also picked up Dicks Picks Volume 30 that has the Dead jamming with Bo Diddly, haven't listened to it yet but it looks good.

I love the Stones. So does Jac. Beggar's Banquet - Exile on Main Street are all amazing albums. Their Satanic Majesties Request and Some Girls are both very good too.

Rubber Soul is special because it's the first Beatles album I got. Revolver's pretty awesome though. And I like Yellow Submarine. So yeah, song-by-song I prefer Revolver, but Rubber Soul has that special significance, so we'll call it even.

I never really liked the song till I heard a really good live version of it. It was a lot faster and it works really well that way. Ever since I heard that I've had it stuck in my head and that song, like many Beatles songs, once it gets stuck in your head its not coming out.

That's like the best song Paul McCartney ever wrote.

I love Rush. And yea, I can see how the voices might annoy some, but I personally love both the instruments and the vocals.

It's not that. I've never hated it, I just wasn't turned on to it until I heard another version of it that opened my mind to it. I like the song now, but I can see where people are coming from who say they dont like it because I used to be one of them. The reason it grew on me is once it got stuck in my head I started taking in the lyrics more and that is really what I think is the best part of the song, the instrumentals grew on me in time.

Meh tryed to get my friend into some new music, but man...

He says Piper At The Gates of Dawn is too Beatle-ish (w.t.f.) to be a good Pink Floyd Album and that Frank Zappa is annoying.

I never said I hated it. I said it's my least favorite song on Revolver but that doesn't make it bad. I enjoy almost all Beatles songs (everything except Wild Honey Pie), but I find Elenor Rigby to be one of their less enjoyable songs. What I'm saying is that it's not a bad song, but it's weak compared to The Beatles best. I don't see how that's so hard to understand.

I really dislike Wild Honey Pie. It's just weird.

I cannot stand any early Beatles, "I Want You" or w/e or about half the stuff from the [I]White Album.[/I] But I think I've established this already, many times.

I can stand early Beatles stuff, but I prefer their more mature 1966-1970 material.

Uh, okay I have a really odd question but does anyone have Jane's Addiction - [I]Strays[/I]? For some odd reason my computer deleted it from my comp and I have it on my iPod still but my CD copy is so scratched so I can't really rip it to my comp. I tried slsk but I got a really shatty quality version that was like a leak from before the album was released. So if anyone could help me I'd be forever greatful.

So today I found Meddle and The Final Cut in the 2 for $30 section, and I also picked up Syd Barrett's self titled album...it was the only one in stock.

I'm not sure if I can pick a favorite yet, but I am listening to Rubber Soul a lot more. It's just so good! Which reminds me, Norwegian Wood is very easy and fun to play. (I just learned it).

I'm starting to get into more of the early stuff now that I've watched the Anthology. Before then I never really gave most of those songs a chance, but after hearing them on the movie, I realized they're good too.

Lately though, there haven't been many topics I feel like adding to. It's been arguing, the Stones, vinyls, half of the recent discussion hasn't even been about the Beatles. It turns me away from the thread whenever I go in there.

I've been on a Doors kick lately. Their first album is brilliant.

One of the things I love so much about The Doors is they just had this primal, unbridled passion, just so much energy.

What happened to the page numbers? Are they different for anyone else?

I burned out on the Doors but they're a good listen on occasion. When The Music's Over is epic.

I prefer The End over WTMO. The guitar in it really tends to make my mind wander.

I just don't like The End. It rambles too much and gets a bit boring. Morrison's voice is top-notch in WTMO which is something i can grab ahold of and listen to.

Hmm fair enough. It does ramble a bit, but something about that song, maybe the guitar, just always keeps interested.

Anyone here a fan of the Tragically Hip? I know they're not that big in the U.S. but up here they're often referred to as "Canada's Beatles." I don't think they really compare to the Beatles at all, but that just gives you an idea of how popular they are here.

They're not bad. I have Road Apples.
